The WAX Blockchain team has officially revealed its roadmap for 2024, featuring various milestones across its many divisions, including Cloud Wallet, Blockchain Protocol, Marketplace, and Gaming.
The Cloud Wallet team is looking to officially deploy its dApp as a native mobile app for iOS and Android devices in the first quarter of 2024 to enable a more user-friendly and accessible experience. In the same quarter, developers can look forward to the launch of Unity SDK 2.0, an updated version that will seamlessly integrate with mobile Cloud Wallet apps, with developer guides also on the way to help integrate the wallet with desktop and mobile dApps. As for the other 3 quarters of next year, the team is planning to launch a premium WAX name service, side chain support, social features, as well as support for EVM side chains amongst more developer guides and optimizations.
This division is planning to officially launch a tokenomics upgrade and Node Launcher in Q1, as well as proof-of-concept RAM improvements and useful developer guides. The team initially revealed the tokenomics upgrade last month, through which a new model is being introduced that contains variable inflation and optional pay-per-transaction fees, giving users a more traditional way of making transactions of the staking method that WAX is known for. From Q2 and onwards, the plan is to release a Side Chain Launcher, EVM Side Chain Launcher, RAM improvements, Antelope 5.0 upgrade, more dev guides, Instant Finality mechanism to Antelope, and various optimizations to tokenomics.
A Counter-Strike 2 skin trading marketplace called the vStrike Marketplace is set to officially launch in Q1 to provide gamers with a “secure, transparent, and decentralized platform” through which it is said they will be able to make “seamless and trustworthy skin trading transactions.” In the same quarter, their NFT platform, the vIRL Marketplace, will be getting some improvements, with the division also set to release developer guides to help in developing non-fungible and fungible tokens for games. The second quarter will feature the release of the Universal Listing Service that will help establish “decentralized control and resilience against reliance on third-party marketplace operators.” Social features will make their way to the vIRL Marketplace in Q3, while Q4 is said to include further enhancements to these new additions.
Last but not least, the roadmap also contains details from the gaming division, Tyranno Studios, for 3 of their games for the first 2 quarters of the year: Blockchain Brawlers, Music Mogul, and Spin Tycoon.
In Q1 2024, the Season 1 B.E.S.T. Tournament of Champions for Blockchain Brawlers will take place with a prize pool of 10k $WAXP, after which B.E.S.T. Season 2 will begin. As part of the partnership with Amazon Prime Gaming, Blockchain Brawlers will be getting more drops for users to claim, with round 2 of exclusive in-game goodies to be given in the second quarter.
As for blockchain tycoon game Music Mogul, the studio plans on releasing AI-driven generative music and weekly global streaming competitions in Q1, while Q2 will mark the launch of new lyrical genres, a leaderboard revamp, Burning Cred Comp 2.0, and new high-tier Crew and Gear.
Spin Tycoon is set to go live in open beta in Q1, with 3 new casinos and 5 new troops planned to be added during the same quarter. In Q2, the Web3 title will make its way to mobile through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store while releasing more casinos and units and kicking off a leaderboard competition.
