After announcing major expansions to VulcanVerse, Vulcan Forged is now looking to launch a new season for Berserk, its competitive blockchain CCG. Berserk Season 3 will feature new card sets, improved card draws, a dynamic prize pool of up to $100k, and more.
For a start, Season 3 will see the release of the "New Beginnings" card set, which contains 24 cards for deck building. These cards will be available for free, though they will be locked and minted as NFTs once the season ends. All existing Vulcanites will be playable in the game, and everyone can play with rented Vulcanites in Season 3.
Active players will also receive a 1-day Berserk subscription pass, which grants access to curated NFT cards, XP boost to Berserk earnings, and unique cosmetics at later stages.
In terms of gameplay, there are some notable changes in Season 3. For instance, the card draw has been reduced to 1 per turn and will only increase to 2 per turn starting Turn 7. A daily MMR decay is also in place so players will always remain on an equal footing to those who have been playing all season.
Starter and Mythic Leagues will be combined as well. So free players can also compete without daily limits on their $LAVA earnings. Berserk's XP rate will increase permanently to 20 - 6 W/L, and players will get 100 XP whenever they win 10 battles in a day.
As for the prize structure, the team has introduced a dynamic prize pool which will grow as the number of active players increases. The prize pool will start at $50k and increase to $75k upon reaching 2k active players and 80k+ games played. If Season 3 gets 6k active players with over 200k games played, the prize pool will go up to $100k. Players must have at least a Level 2 (Senior Wormling) My Forge account to be eligible for prizes.
As of now, Vulcan Forged hasn't confirmed the date for Berserk Season 3. You can find more details in the official post here.
