Vulcan Forged is launching VulcanX Everything, a single app that brings its games, trading, quests, NFTs, and rewards together under one economy powered by the PYR token. The studio describes it as one place to play, compete, trade, and earn. Week 1 of the rollout arrives with a doubled PYR prize pool, a change the team says came directly from a community survey.
What VulcanX Everything is
VulcanX Everything, also shortened to VX, is billed as the studio's biggest product to date. It is one connected app where players can game, trade, earn, chat, complete quests, collect NFTs, climb leaderboards, and win prizes, all tied to a single PYR-powered GameFi ecosystem. The goal is to hide the technical steps and let players simply play.
The reward loop runs on a few core systems. Players chase Quests for Chests, collect Shards, and compete on leaderboards for a share of a weekly PYR reward pool. The more Shards a player gathers, the higher they climb, and the higher they climb, the larger their slice of the pool. Access to the chest rewards runs through a Frenzy Pass, which costs 30 PYR and lasts 30 days. Games can be played without one, but chests cannot be earned without a valid pass.
The launch also came with a community perk. CEO Jamie Thomson put a question to the community through a survey, and the response was to double the PYR prize pool. As a result, Week 1 opened with twice the rewards on offer.
One token, one economy
A major part of the shift is token simplification. Just as the ELY gas token on the Elysium blockchain was replaced by PYR earlier this year, the studio's secondary V token will now also be folded into PYR. The team frames it as a move toward a single primary asset for the entire ecosystem.
The economics around PYR are changing too. Vulcan Forged has capped the maximum supply at 70 million PYR and is pushing a deflationary model. Trading fees, in-game actions, purchases, marketplace activity, and quests will each either burn PYR or fund community reward pools. The studio says this means thousands of PYR will burn every day. From the VulcanX launch, only PYR on Elysium will power the ecosystem.
To ease the transition, the team confirmed upcoming PYR airdrops for V holders and Elysium PYR holders who become the first VX users. The pitch to holders is a supply-and-demand one. More players means more PYR burned, larger reward pools, and less PYR in circulation over time.
Land staking winds down
The new economy comes at a cost to an older feature. Vulcan Forged confirmed that its land staking program will end at the end of this month, July. The studio said it had distributed tens of millions of dollars in rewards over the years, and it called that constant supply with little matching demand its biggest mistake.
Land is not being left behind entirely. Under a system the studio detailed earlier, PYR locked in VulcanVerse land plots rolls into V-Drip, a rewards engine that distributes 100 V tokens per day among participants. Land plots also carry Relic-style boosts to daily earnings, scaling from a small bump up to a 30 percent boost for the highest tier, with the boost stepping down over time.
Inside VulcanVerse and Vulcan Forged's games
The publisher behind the announcement is best known for VulcanVerse, its flagship MMORPG. VulcanVerse is an open-world, Greco-Roman fantasy title where players own and develop land, complete quests, and build out a shared world. It anchors a lineup that also includes Berserk, Runner, Poker, and Vulcan Champions. The studio says these games remain a core part of its future.
VulcanX is the layer meant to tie them together. Every game now feeds into one connected, player-first economy, so playing well can earn rare NFTs, weekly PYR rewards, and exclusive prizes rather than isolated in-game points. NFTs earned across the ecosystem are also meant to carry real utility, feeding into gameplay, progression, access, cosmetics, and boosts instead of sitting idle as collectibles.
The wider ecosystem runs on Elysium, Vulcan Forged's own proof-of-stake Layer 1 blockchain built for onchain games. Players trade assets through Agora, the studio's marketplace, which now uses wrapped PYR for its smart contracts. The recent ELY to PYR gas migration set the stage for VulcanX, bringing MyForge, Elysium Swap, the Elysium Bridge, and Agora onto the new PYR infrastructure. The team also points to a faster development pace, crediting AI tools and its team for shipping features, fixing bugs, and launching products more quickly than before.
A hack, recovery, and a monitoring tag
The launch lands against a difficult backdrop that the studio addressed head on. Years ago, Vulcan Forged suffered one of the worst hacks the sector has seen. More than 100 million USD worth of PYR was stolen, wiping out virtually its entire treasury. Rather than walk away, the team made every affected user whole and replaced every penny, a decision it says left it with almost no funding to build and one it never fully recovered from financially.
That history framed the studio's response to a more recent event. The team said a monitoring tag placed on the token last Friday hit hard, and it admitted reacting emotionally because it felt unfair after years of continuing to build while other projects disappeared. The studio asked its community to judge it on its ongoing work and struck a defiant tone about pressing forward. As Vulcan Forged put it, "If we could survive that, we can survive a monitoring tag."
