VOYA Games has officially announced its entry into the Ronin ecosystem, bringing its fully onchain game Craft World to the platform on July 25. This move marks a key step forward for VOYA's vision of a connected world of web3 games.
Craft World is a blockchain-powered idle game where players collect, trade, and manage over 25 unique resources. Each item is tied to an ERC20 token, making every transaction fully onchain. The game allows players to guide dinosaur-like creatures called Dynomites in rebuilding a world hit by disaster. During its initial test phase on Polygon, over 240,000 wallets joined, showcasing early demand and strong traction.
Now, with its July release on Ronin, VOYA is preparing to bring that entire player base (and more) into a community-driven web3 network.
In VOYA's announcement, the studio praised Ronin's commitment to "players, builders, and longevity over short-term trends." They explained that the choice wasn't only about the tech stack. "Ronin's focus on ecosystem quality and resilience stood out," VOYA shared. This aligns with their goal to build sustainable web3 games, not just follow hype.
Sky Mavis, the team behind Ronin, also welcomed the move. Co-founder Jeff Zirlin (Jihoz) pointed out how Craft World stands out for using in-game ads as part of its monetization. "Craft World knows how to convert users and drive revenue; a rare combination in web3 gaming today. They're best-in-class at monetizing through in-game ads rather than relying solely on purchases," said Jihoz.
The upcoming launch is backed by a successful $5 million funding round completed in May. This investment was co-led by early-stage firms 1kx and Makers Fund. Other contributors included notable figures from both web2 and web3 gaming, such as The Sandbox's Sebastien Borget and Sky Mavis' Jihoz.
The funds will support not just the launch of Craft World on mainnet, but also the creation of a full ecosystem of interoperable blockchain games. According to the team, this ecosystem will be built around a player-owned economy, where resources are earned solely through gameplay. These assets will hold "intrinsic value" and can be traded openly.
VOYA emphasized that this model aims to move away from short-lived token cycles. Instead, their focus is on long-term value where players can own their items, identity, and progress, and even carry these across multiple games. "We chose to start with a crafting game for a reason," the team explained. "It's the genre best suited to showcase a player-owned economy in action."
Craft World's economy revolves around Dyno Coin, a utility token with an uncapped supply. Unlike many web3 projects that launch with token sales, VOYA will give away Dyno Coin through an upcoming web-based metagame called Project Voyager (launching June 11). This platform rewards players with crystals for completing quests and social actions. These crystals can be used to upgrade characters and decide how much Dyno Coin each player will get.
As such, Project Voyager acts as a bridge between Craft World's testnet version and its Ronin mainnet launch. It's designed to help players transition smoothly while unlocking early rewards. The team describes it as an "onboarding campaign" that sets the stage for what's next.
The Ronin partnership is just the beginning. "This marks the beginning of a long-term partnership," VOYA noted in its announcement. The company plans to bring "multiple upcoming games" to the Ronin network, creating a player-owned economy. Each new game will connect to the others through shared mechanics and assets, further encouraging growth within the network.
VOYA Games was founded in 2023 by game veteran Oliver Löffler. Before VOYA, Löffler co-founded Infernum Productions and helped develop titles like BattleForge and TERA. The studio was built with a clear goal in mind: to create long-lasting web3 games.
VOYA is tied to Angry Dynomites Lab, which released two dinosaur-themed NFT collections on Ethereum in 2022. These early digital assets set the stage for Craft World, giving players their first taste of the project's colorful and quirky universe.
