One of the world's largest telecommunication companies, Vodafone Germany, has reportedly revealed that they are planning to launch an NFT collection on Cardano.
This was teased in a tweet from the Vodafone Service Twitter account, who have left an invite link to their official Discord server where the first 1000 members will be rewarded due to being very early supporters. That however does not mean that there will be any whitelist for being early - in fact, there won't be any whitelist at all, as revealed in the FAQ section of the announcement in the Discord server. This is because the company wants to make sure the project is "as inclusive as possible." As such, they warn users to be wary of any fake airdrop links or similar.
The collection aims to provide "real utility and benefits" to Vodafone customers. These benefits however can only be directly provided to German customers due to being Vodafone Germany. Expanding the range to its international community is something the company is working on at the moment.
Utility details do not seem to be available at the time of writing, as the team is looking to finalize this aspect of the project, inviting the community to pitch their own suggestions for them to potentially take into account.
While the announcement doesn't mention how minting will work, Patrick Tobler has unveiled that minting will take place on NMKR, a platform for simplified selling of NFTs on websites, to which Tobler is the CEO.
