Gaming studio VitalXP has recently announced that they have managed to successfully secure $3 million in a pre-seed financing round that was led by Streamlined Ventures and Marbruck Investments.
According to the press release on GamesBeat, this funding will be used to develop the company’s debut title, a blockchain looter shooter called Lowlife Forms, but also an “action-packed” gameverse platform. The former combines third-person gunplay together with science-fantasy and a criminal underworld setting to bring “NFT-modularity” and create an “evolutive looter-shooter”. In the interview with GamesBeat journalist Dean Takahashi, creative director Tarik Malak revealed that the community is at the core of this IP which aims to consist of more than just games, thus stating the following:
“Things that happen in the community can bubble up into our game’s lore, and the game itself will shape stories in other media as we bring Lowlife Forms into animation, film, and other entertainment platforms. A gang we haven’t even thought of is forming as we speak in the community, and might be in the IP and story next year.”
The game will be a multi-chain title that will include NFT drops on the Solana and Ethereum networks, among others, with an initial NFT drop scheduled to happen on Thursday, March 9th, on Solana, via the Magic Eden marketplace. This drop will feature playable NFT characters priced at 4.4 $SOL per non-fungible token. Quarterly drops are planned to take place in the future.
The team initially raised a seed round back in 2020, with a new investment round planned to happen again this year
The founder of Streamlined Ventures, Ullas Naik, said the following in a statement:
“What VitalXP is doing is crucial for both the entertainment and web3 spaces. Whether players know it or not yet, ownership of digital game assets will change the industry. With so many popular gaming ecosystems, users spend a lot of time and effort making the world their own, but the financial benefit only flows to the publishers. We think that user-driven gaming economies will be the new normal very soon.”
