Unite has officially launched its Closed Beta Testnet, marking the first public testing phase of the platform that aims to tokenize gamer identity and gameplay. The Closed Beta introduces the core systems behind Gamer Coins and Play Coins, both of which record player activity on-chain and convert gaming behavior into verifiable digital value. Access to the test phase is restricted to whitelisted players who receive confirmation by email, and all progress will be deleted at the end of testing.

The Closed Beta is running on a Base chain. Participants can mine Play Coins by playing supported titles, mint their Gamer Coin to establish a digital identity, claim Unite testnet tokens for transactions, and provide feedback to help stabilize the system before full launch. Gameplay tracking is available across both web-based titles and selected Windows games.

What Is Unite?

Unite is a web3 protocol and gaming ecosystem designed to convert every part of a gamer’s activity into a portable and verifiable digital asset. The platform introduces 2 core token types: the Gamer Coin and the Play Coin. These assets record identity, achievements, time spent in-game, and gameplay history. The model is built on the idea that gamers create long-term value through activity, but in traditional gaming systems this value remains locked inside closed ecosystems. Unite aims to solve this by making gameplay itself the core asset that becomes ownable.

The Gamer Coin functions as a representation of the player’s identity. Each player mints 1 Gamer Coin with a total supply of 1 billion. Half of that supply is given to the game that the player is associated with, while the remaining half is linearly vested over 5 years. This structure creates a long-term asset that grows as the player interacts with supported games.

Play Coins record proof of play inside individual titles. Each game that a player participates in generates its own Play Coin. These coins also have a total supply of 1 billion. 10% of that supply vests immediately to the player who mints the coin, while the remaining supply unlocks as the gamer spends time in the associated title. Supported games allow a maximum of 8 hours of mining per day. Together, Gamer Coins and Play Coins create a system in which playtime, achievements, and in-game milestones become on-chain proof of identity and skill.

The broader vision of Unite is to tokenize the gamer rather than the game. The platform argues that gamers maintain long-term value that persists beyond any single title. By recording gameplay on-chain and establishing identity-driven assets, Unite provides a portable profile that follows users across ecosystems. The system supports interoperability, liquidity, and decentralized verification. Unite also operates its own Layer 3 blockchain that is designed for high-performance gaming, minimal transaction fees, and rapid settlement. This chain uses optimistic rollup methods and is compatible with existing EVM wallets.

What Is New in Unite Closed Beta?

The Closed Beta introduces the first publicly accessible version of the Unite identity and proof of play systems. Access is restricted to approved players who complete the whitelist process. All wallet permissions, minting actions, coin creation, and gameplay tracking occur entirely on the Base test network. Data will be erased after the test phase ends.

Once a player is approved, they receive a whitelist confirmation email that allows their wallet to sign in. Only whitelisted wallets can access the testnet environment. After signing in with an EVM-compatible wallet such as MetaMask, players can begin minting their Gamer Coin. This is the first required step before any Play Coins can be created.

With the Gamer Coin created, players can link their identity to supported games and begin producing Play Coins. The Closed Beta supports a range of games across both web-based content and Windows titles. Web games can be launched directly from the interface by clicking Play, with the platform automatically tracking gameplay through the browser. For Windows-based games, players must install the Unite client. This application records and validates gameplay for mining purposes. The current official list of supported Windows titles includes:

  • Dota 2 (Windows)
  • Counter-Strike 2 (Windows)
  • PUBG: Battlegrounds (Windows)
  • Apex Legends (Windows)
  • Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced (Windows)
  • Roblox (Windows)
  • League of Legends (Windows)
  • Valorant (Windows)
  • Battlefield (Windows)
  • Path of Exile (Windows)
  • God of War (Windows)
  • Line Bright (Web)
  • Robo Escape (Web)
  • Neighborhood Defense (Web)
  • Puppet Hockey (Web)
  • Super Pixel Survivor (Web)
  • Luminova (Web)
  • Archery (Web)
  • Sandy Balls (Web)
  • Food Fighter (Web)
  • Tile Match (Web)
  • Parking Jam (Web)
  • Jelly Doods (Web)
  • Pac Cat (Web)
  • Crossy Chicken (Web)

Every supported game can generate Play Coins. These coins begin vesting the moment gameplay is recorded. As players spend time in selected titles, they unlock remaining supply at a rate connected to daily playtime. Mining is limited to 8 hours per 24-hour cycle per game.

Testing also includes a mechanism to claim testnet UNITE tokens. These tokens are required for Play Coin minting, Gamer Coin transactions, and other on-chain actions. Players can claim 50k testnet UNITE tokens once every 24 hours by using the Unite Faucet inside the Closed Beta dashboard.

How to Join Unite Closed Beta Testnet

Players who want to participate in the Closed Beta must complete the official whitelist application form. If approved, the player should receive a confirmation email.

Only wallets that have been added to the whitelist can access the Closed Beta environment. Once approval is received, players visit the login page and sign in using an EVM-compatible wallet.

Players can then begin minting their Gamer Coin. This step requires choosing a name, a ticker, and an icon. Once minted, the Gamer Coin becomes the anchor for all Play Coin generation. After this, players choose their preferred games and start recording gameplay for proof of play mining.

The Closed Beta also provides access to community channels where participants can receive updates, communicate with developers, and collaborate with other testers. All progress made in the Closed Beta is temporary. When testing is complete, all coins, achievements, and gameplay logs will be deleted. The focus of this phase is to test and help “shape the future of gaming.”
