Uldor Reveals Dread Arena Tournaments, Hints at New Game Modes, and More

The latest update includes the addition of featured tournaments, as well as a new leaderboard system, which are all hosted on a custom microservice to ensure a seamless player experience.
Uldor Reveals Dread Arena Tournaments, Hints at New Game Modes, and More

What's new in the world of Uldor

Web3 MMORPG Uldor has introduced some new features to Dread Arena, a PvE combat mode where players fight against waves of undead enemies.

According to the team, featured tournaments and a new leaderboard system were added, providing players with more opportunities to compete and earn. Dread Arena now has a new login/account creation screen and a new authentication system that allows players to claim their profile names. Players can find featured events in the Tournaments section and compete in these events for special prizes.

Each tournament has its own scoreboard showing the highest wave, kills, and the character played by each gamer. Some tournaments allow multiple attempts, meaning players could die and try again to place higher on the leaderboard.

Players can also create and host their tournaments, as well as engage in private combat with other players. After creating an event, a host can share the access code with other players, allowing guilds and communities to arrange private tourneys. Custom tournament rules, such as limiting the event to specific characters, the maximum number of attempts per player, difficulty settings, and more, will also be included.

Notably, the tournaments and leaderboard system in Uldor are managed by a custom microservice, which according to the team, will pave the way for a seamless open-world experience. Instead of relying on a server, the microservice will handle the tournaments, allowing the game to run faster with no single point of failure. This improvement will allow Uldor to scale up more efficiently, as the code required to construct Dread Arena will be used in other game modes.

Currently, Dread Arena Alpha is available on Elixir Game, HyperPlay, and Seddona. More features will be added in the coming months, including a co-op mode, a progression system, a virtual hub for players to socialize and quest, improved AI enemies, wallet integration, PvP, expanded lore, and more.
