Following the launch of Apple Vision Pro, the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) has partnered with Apple Coding Academy to issue certificates on metaverse, Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality. The University is one of the first Spanish institutions of higher learning to enter the AR and VR of iOS and Apple. This partnership will help students in developing content for the new Apple Vison Pro platform. The two partnering firms will jointly release mixed reality content on this platform
Speaking on the new partnership, Cristóbal Fernández, UCM’s Director of master's degree in Metaverse, Virtual, and Augmented Reality said:
“This milestone means consolidating the position of the UCM as the first University with a training offer in our language in the field of emerging virtual and augmented reality technologies…."
Notably, Complutense students will have exclusive access to specialized content. Metaverse experts at Apple Coding Academy and Virtual Vogagers Academy will teach these students how to apply specialized content development to extended reality.
While speaking to Madrid Press, Julio César Martínez, an Apple Coding scholar said:
“The synergy between the experience of Virtual Voyagers as pioneers in AR/VR training and Apple Coding Academy…will create a unique union that will benefit the students of both educational initiatives, achieving the best of each of these experiences and taking their training beyond the limits of this new vision”.
UCM had earlier incorporated some latest technologies into its academic curriculum. Its School of Legal Practice held a webinar titled "The Law in the Metaverse: what already exists and what is missing". During the event, participants analyzed the current state of the legal system in the metaverse and its degree of immersiveness and interaction. UCM also inaugurated a new AI cell that studies the challenges and opportunities behind the AI world and its influence on the Spanish educational system.
