As the final month of 2022 arrives, we still see a lot of fluctuation in activity across the major web3 gaming and NFT projects. Predictions for the crypto markets seem uncertain as to whether we're heading up or down, and we see that uncertainty reflected in these projects.
Though the markets may be unpredictable, I think that we can predict that web3 gaming will continue to expand. The number of games pushing forward into alpha previews, beta playtests, and even first releases continues to grow. In fact, there is an open alpha playtest running right now for Mojo Melee (until 10pm UTC today) and several others planned for this month!
NFT collections have been seeing a lot of ups and downs as well, with famous artwork taking a beating and Gods Unchained nearly claiming the top spot in volume traded!
Read on for a look at the most active web3 games and NFT projects for the week. And be sure to keep an eye on our website and Twitter feed for the latest developments in the web3 gaming space!

Despite major fluctuations in active users from one week to the next, Alien Worlds remains firmly in the top spot in this category. In fact, we can see that there is a pretty staggering difference between first place and 10th place - a 10x difference! And as anyone who has played Alien Worlds knows, there isn't actually a lot of gameplay involved in the game! So, as more and more gaming projects hit alpha and beta stages, it will be very interesting to see who can push their way on to these charts. And if the staking / click-mining games can retain players' interest.
Other recent additions to the top 10 chart such as Trickshot Blitz and Tiny World saw major drops (-55% for Tiny World!) in user numbers. But overall, the top 10 web3 gaming chart showed an uptick in active users.

Sales for NFT collections saw quite a bit of flux this past week. Bored Apes, Mutant Apes, and CryptoPunks in particular suffered a major drop in trading activity, allowing Gods Unchained to vault from 5th place to second place despite seeing slightly less volume than the previous week!
Valhalla and Cel Mates, two hot projects from last week, both saw a 67% drop in trading volume. Both projects are still unrevealed, so it seems that the initial collecting hype has settled down and now most people are waiting for the reveals. I wouldn't be surprised to see them slide back up our charts next week.
A couple of other recent projects, Art Blocks, DeGods, Clone X and y00ts saw surges in the trading activity for their collections. Also, a new spinoff collection, 3D Invisible Friends, joined our top 10 chart after their initial NFT reveal a few days ago. Apparently collectors liked what they were seeing as their trading volume jumped over 110%!
