After releasing Game Client 0.9.7, The Sandbox metaverse team is complementing that with the launch of Game Maker 0.9, introducing new customizable templates and more features for creators to utilize to create even more engaging experiences.
The latest version of the no-code, free game development software marks the introduction of variables for tracking values of players in multiplayer experiences. But that’s not all; the new version also includes the launch of the NFT Sensor, Power-Up features, smart equipment features, many new templates, the Grid System, user-friendly GUI, debugging features, and more.
If you previously struggled with developing a certain kind of gameplay experience, then you might find this latest release to make things a breeze thanks the launch of a new visual scripting system called Game Rules. The Game Rules system lets users use preset and custom rulesets that help in creating a wide range of different types of gameplay, among which, according to the official announcement, include resource management, skill-based challenges, puzzles, loot systems, chance events, and more. Creating game mechanics is now easier than ever before.
The drag-and-drop program now features more than 60 customizable templates to choose from and use as the foundation to your experience. This helps you save development time as these templates come included with varied gameplay mechanics to help you create the experience you’re looking for.
Next to new templates, creators can now set up their own Power-Ups in order to give players various buffs such as increased health, with the options to adjust duration and percentage increase also available.
The NFT Sensor is a significant new feature that lets developers check whether a player owns a specific NFT. With this system, creators can create premium content for NFT holders, building things such as VIP areas that can be accessed only those with a certain Avatar or other NFT.
These are just some of the updates introduced to the feature-packed Game Maker 0.9, available for download for free on the official website of The Sandbox.
