The DanceFight VoxEdit Contest by The Sandbox is not just another competition; it's a celebration of creativity and innovation. In the first stage, voxel artists from around the globe are invited to put their skills to the test. Using the VoxEdit tool, participants are tasked with designing a Non-Playable Character (NPC).
But there's a twist: each NPC must be equipped with an original dance move, reflecting its unique personality and essence. This stage is all about imagination, and animation, providing artists with a platform to express themselves like never before.
After the initial showcase of talent, the top 16 artists from Stage 1 will be ushered into an even more exhilarating phase: The DanceFight Showdown. Here, the lines between the virtual and real worlds blur. Participants will collaborate with professional dancers from DanceFight to replicate a specific dance move in the virtual realm.
But the excitement doesn't end there. The contest has a generous prize pool waiting for its winners. A total of 20 winners will emerge from Stage 2, with a whopping 16,500 SAND to be distributed among the top voxel artists. The breakdown is as follows:
In addition to the SAND prizes, the top four dancers will share a cash prize of $300, with the first-place winner taking home $200.
Winners also have the exclusive opportunity to mint their NPC, and in return, they will receive a unique Wild One Avatar. However, there's a condition: DanceFight reserves the right to feature the winning NPCs on their LAND during the upcoming Alpha Season 4.
To ensure the integrity of the contest, The Sandbox has set specific guidelines. Participants aiming for the top 5 positions or those wishing to be verified creators must undergo a KYC process. The criteria for judging are clear-cut, focusing on creativity, usability, optimization, detail, and animation quality.
For those new to VoxEdit or those who might hit a creative block, The Sandbox offers a plethora of resources. The VoxEdit Academy is a treasure trove of information, and the vibrant Discord community is always ready to assist, inspire, and collaborate.
For those eager to participate in the DanceFight VoxEdit Contest, The Sandbox has outlined a straightforward submission process. Begin by creating both a GIF and an MP4 format of your fully animated asset. It's recommended to use the Gyazo platform for optimal results. Once your asset is ready, share the GIF on Twitter, ensuring to mention both @VoxEdit and @TheSandboxGame.
Additionally, participants should include the hashtag #VoxEditWeekly in their tweets to enhance visibility. To complete the submission process, entrants must fill out a designated Google Form, which can be accessed here.
