The Sandbox (TSB) has officially kicked off pre-sales for its Alpha Season 6 Premium Pass, signaling that the next chapter in its seasonal metaverse series is almost here. While a full launch date has yet to be announced, the game has begun teasing what's to come. This includes a major partnership with Cirque du Soleil and a new way for players to earn $SAND tokens by completing the season pass.
With its last season having wrapped up earlier this year, TSB is now preparing to bring circus flair and more IP-based content into its metaverse, offering both free and paid tracks for those looking to unlock exclusive rewards.
Premium Pass Pre-Sale Now Open
The Alpha Season 6 Premium Pass is now live for minting (30 SAND or around $8.90) and gives players a way to earn bonus SAND and premium content through the new Premium SAND Pool Key. Players who complete this pass will earn a share of the 250,000 $SAND reward pool, plus access to limited edition items.
The pass can be purchased with either crypto or a credit card, but it's only available in limited supply during the pre-sale phase. Users must have a validated Sandbox account to be eligible, and only one pass is allowed per account.
Alongside this, the teaser mentions that Premium Pass holders may unlock IP Passes tied to brands like Cirque du Soleil, Terminator, Black Mirror, Peaky Blinders, The Smurfs, and King Kong, depending on their level progress. These Passes could unlock themed gameplay experiences, although this detail remains speculative for now.

Free vs. Premium Rewards
While there are few details about what players will be doing in Season 6, the teaser hints at 2 different reward tracks. The free path appears to focus on collectibles and wearables, possibly with some small amounts of $SAND. Meanwhile, the Alpha Pass (Premium) unlocks exclusive items, likely tied to brand partnerships, and grants access to bigger rewards through quests and level progression.
As with earlier seasons, players will likely earn Ethos Points (EP) by completing in-game tasks, which will determine their place on a leaderboard and help unlock rewards. A total of 35 levels are shown in the trailer, and reaching level 35 appears to grant the final Premium key.
Cirque du Soleil Joins The Sandbox Metaverse
One of the biggest announcements tied to Season 6 is the partnership between The Sandbox and Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group. Revealed during a keynote at NFT.NYC earlier this year, this team-up brings two Cirque shows into TSB, starting with Luzia, which is inspired by Mexican culture and dreamlike fantasy.
The second show remains unannounced, but both are set to become interactive game experiences inside the voxel-based metaverse. These digital stages aim to reflect Cirque's unique visual style, music, and theatrical storytelling.
Other than the virtual performances, players can expect Cirque-styled digital collectibles and avatars, designed to fit into the wider Sandbox ecosystem. These items are also set to be usable across other experiences in the platform.
Speaking on the collaboration, Noah Lemieux Bernier, VP of Digital and Customer Experience at Cirque du Soleil, described it as an expansion of their storytelling approach into more social and interactive digital spaces. The goal is to create emotional connections with audiences in a way that's playful and immersive.
What Happened in Alpha Season 5?
To understand what Season 6 might look like, it's worth looking back at Alpha Season 5, which ran for 6 weeks starting in April 2025. That season delivered over 40 playable experiences, a wide range of partner content, and up to $1 million in $SAND and NFT rewards.
Themed around Jurassic World, Season 5 featured a new island split into 6 zones, including The Jungle, The Volcano, and The Beach. Players earned Ethos Points by completing quests and exploring the zones, which impacted their ranking on the season's leaderboard.
One of the biggest additions during that season was the Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve. Players took on the role of sanctuary staff responsible for protecting dinosaurs in a dynamic environment affected by weather and time. Completing quests here earned special Jurassic Points that could be used to grow digital dinosaur eggs into collectibles. Those who held Premium Eggs gained more points and extra bonuses.
The free track in Season 5 allowed players to earn up to 10 $SAND tokens by reaching level 10. In comparison, Alpha Pass holders could earn up to 110 $SAND, including rewards from Partner Passes unlocked through progression. These included tie-ins with Atari, Terminator, Care Bears, and more.
New features like Abilities were also introduced, such as Double Jump, Fly, and Air Dance. These were unlocked through specific NFTs and brought extra mobility to different experiences.
At the end of the season, there was a $SAND Raffle in which 500 players could win 500 $SAND each. Entries were based on how many Ethos Points a player had collected throughout the event.
IP Partnerships May Expand in Season 6
While unconfirmed, the teaser for Alpha Season 6 suggests a similar structure may return, with IP-based Partner Passes once again playing a central role. The team hints at partnerships with Atari, Terminator, The Smurfs, Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror, and more. These might offer exclusive experiences or digital items as players unlock higher levels of the Premium Pass.
That said, until The Sandbox makes a full announcement, it's unclear what kind of gameplay or access these IP Passes will actually include.
Questions About Season 6? Town Hall Coming Soon
To address growing curiosity about Season 6, The Sandbox has announced an upcoming Town Hall session. While no date has been shared, players are invited to submit questions through a Google Form, which may be answered during the event.
This Town Hall is expected to cover key details about the new season, including gameplay changes, partner content, reward structure, and the new Premium SAND Pool Key system.
How to Get the Premium Pass
The Premium Pass for Season 6 can now be minted through The Sandbox's official platform. It's available in limited quantity, and once sold out, no more will be offered. To buy one, users must have a validated account and are limited to minting only one pass per account.
Purchases can be made through credit card or crypto, and access to rewards will be granted once the season officially launches. The Premium Pass is required to unlock the biggest rewards, including a cut of the 250K $SAND prize pool.
While no start date has been shared, the launch of the Premium Pass and teaser trailer suggest that Season 6 is just around the corner. With a circus-inspired theme, IP partnerships, and a fresh reward system, The Sandbox appears ready to bring something new to its community.
