After announcing plans to launch in Alpha, free-to-play RPG The Beacon is back with a revised roadmap, showing what's to come in terms of gameplay.
Per the latest update, players can look forward to a finalized combat system built with smarter enemies and path-finding. An improved cosmetic system, Website 2.0, and a new Town Square will be added in Q3 to create a more immersive gameplay experience.
In Q4, Skillcap Studio will release a host of exciting features for playtesting. This includes the full roguelite gameplay built with procedural generation methods, an improved house-building system, boss fights, consumables, and weapons to cater to different playstyles.
It should be noted that The Beacon's Alpha launch is still set for Q1 2024, as previously stated. During the Alpha, players may expect new features and dynamics, such as the progression system, an online social hub, and a preliminary pet system. The Alpha game will be playable via a standalone client. More details on how to join the playtest will come later.
The Beacon version I will be released sometime in 2024. Other game modes, such as co-op and PvP, as well as competitive gameplay, will be released gradually. A map builder will be included, allowing users to create their game maps and expand The Beacon's universe. Pet breeding and a built-in marketplace will be released, creating a more diversified gaming experience and allowing users to trade their game assets.
