The Beacon New Frontiers Quest Phase 2 Act II: Trials and Tribulations – What's New?

The second act of The New Frontiers Quest is designed to push players to their limits while letting them shape the game's future. Whether you're a hardcore adventurer or a casual tester, this phase is all about experimenting with new features.

Here's what to expect:

  • New quests and challenges drop weekly – Two are available at launch, with 2 more the next day and 2 rolling out shortly after.
  • Try out new weapons, monsters, traps, and field items – Your feedback will influence the game's final design.
  • Expedition Points system – Track your contributions and progress throughout Phase 2.
  • Hardcore versions of some quests – Higher risks, better rewards!
  • New client builds for each quest – Downloadable via Treasure Launcher for faster iteration and improvements.

Who Can Play?

While The Beacon aims to be accessible to all, Act II is primarily reserved for Writ of Passage (WOP) NFT holders. However, there will be some public instances where everyone can take part—so keep an eye on official announcements.

How to Join

  1. Own a Writ of Passage NFT (on either Arbitrum or Treasure Network).
  2. Unstake your WOP to join this phase. (Unstake here)
  3. Download the game via Treasure Launcher and start questing!

Where Are We in The New Frontiers Quest?

Before The Beacon officially goes live, The New Frontiers Quest acts as a pre-launch campaign—a testing ground where players can earn rewards, refine mechanics, and get a head start.

Recap of the Phases So Far: 

Phase 1 (June 10, 2024 - Open to All)

  • Players completed missions to earn Prestige Points.
  • Completing the main questline entered players into a raffle for a Writ of Passage mint spot.
  • This phase featured social engagement, play to airdrop mechanics, and a public demo.

Phase 2 (February 27, 2025 - Exclusive to WOP Holders)

  • Act I introduced WOP staking mechanics.
  • Act II (NOW LIVE) focuses on challenging quests, testing, and rewards. Another 2 new quests have gone live and can be accessed through the NFQ web app:
    • Main Quest: "Watch Your Step" – Introduces new mechanics, including traps and hazards.
    • Optional Hard Quest: "Dance Through the Danger" – Designed for those seeking a challenge. Be warned—this one is tough!

Rewards & Progression in Act II

WOP holders can earn Expedition Points, which will determine their token airdrop allocation. Here's how it works: 

Expedition Points System

  • Complete quests to earn chests that contain Expedition Points.
  • A snapshot of your total points at the end of the phase determines your reward allocation when the Token Generation Event (TGE) happens.
  • More points = a bigger share of the reward pool.

Writ of Passage Bonus Multiplier

Holding a WOP NFT grants an expedition points multiplier:

  • Example: 100 base points + 0.5x WOP multiplier = 150 points.
  • You must hold your WOP at the final snapshot to receive the bonus.

What If You Own Multiple WOPs?

  • All WOPs in your wallet will be upgraded at once—no need to replay content multiple times.
  • If you acquire extra WOPs before the final snapshot, they'll all receive the upgrade.

How to Get Started

  1. To get started, head to https://app.thebeacon.gg/nfq and click Log In.
  2. Connect your wallet (WOP must be inside!).
  3. Sign the message to verify your account.
  4. Download and install Treasure Launcher.
  5. Then, start your quest and earn Expedition Points!

Note that if you played in Phase 1 using Twitter, you must log in using the wallet holding your WOP for Phase 2.
