Our team sorted the five games in this countdown by how each one uses the tower defense idea, from fortress raids to direct hero control. These play to earn games show how blockchain games and crypto games can stretch across mobile, PC, MOBA, and strategy formats without sharing one standard battlefield.

5. Heroes of Mavia

Heroes of Mavia is Skrice Studios' free base-defense strategy game with its blockchain layer on Base and Ethereum, playable on Android, iOS, and Windows through Google Play Games. Players arrange walls, turrets, and traps like Explosive Mines and Flying Bombs around a Headquarters, protecting stockpiles of Gold, Oil, and Ruby, while armies drawn from more than twelve unit types across infantry, vehicle, and air categories get three minutes to crack a rival layout. Ruby Battles gives both players identical randomly selected Ghost Bases with matching units, so only the plan of attack separates them. Alliance Wars opened its first season on August 3, 2026 with entry fees waived, fought over a gridded territory map and tracked through the Alliance Wars Central hub. Gold and Oil come from the base, Sapphire is the purchased timer-skip currency, Ruby moves through combat wins and the gas-free Ruby Marketplace on Base, and Land NFTs raise daily Ruby limits. On August 12, 2026, a real-time Alliance War chat feature arrived.

4. Crazy Defense Heroes

Crazy Defense Heroes is Animoca Brands' collectible-card tower defense game on Base, available free on Android and iOS after moving its blockchain layer away from Polygon in September 2025. Players place towers at fixed points and combine their range and damage patterns with heroes, spells, and equipment to stop waves along a route. More than 500 stages across four difficulty modes create a varied challenge. Progress strengthens and combines cards, while guilds and seasonal events extend the campaign. Battle Card NFTs span Common through Legendary tiers, and TOWER Map NFTs unlock special maps and chest tiers. The TOWER token covers selected store items and event entry fees. On August 1, 2026, the latest monthly Crazy Defense Heroes cycle opened.

3. Wild Forest

Wild Forest is a free single-screen real-time strategy game on Ronin for Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS, with competitive battles and a separate Survival mode. Players bring seven unit cards, capture neutral ground, and spend Mana on troops and structures while pushing toward the enemy Base. Mines raise Mana flow, Barracks produce stronger units after upgrades, and Towers protect captured territory from ground and airborne attackers. Survival sends continuous waves at the player's Base, bosses arrive every five waves, and four difficulty settings test deck and structure choices. A free basic map opens after the tutorial. Units, Skins, Lords, Packs, Fragments, Gold, Shards, and Essence feed progression, while units can be leveled, merged, and minted on Ronin. WF supports rank upgrades, Perk rerolls, premium purchases, Shard Packs, and minting fees.

2. Nexus

Nexus is a free 5v5 third-person MOBA shooter for Windows through Epic Games, running on PLAYA3ULL Mainnet, a network built with Avalanche Subnet technology. Two teams protect their own Nexus while clearing minions, taking towers, and opening a path toward the opposing base. Players combine weapons, abilities, and equipment before and during a match, then swap abilities when the enemy lineup demands a different answer. Experience can raise a character as high as level 13, with each level adding points for new abilities or upgrades. Wards provide temporary minimap vision, and ranked play begins with ten calibration matches before placing players from Bronze through Master. Nexus NFT skins are cosmetics, while the 3ULL coin covers network fees, purchases, and feature access. Current payout amounts and withdrawal limits for the P&E Pass are not published.
