Telegram Game 'Notcoin' to Purge Inactive Accounts Before Token Launch

Telegram-based game Notcoin has announced a new policy for purging inactive accounts. This move is set to impact players awaiting the launch of the on-chain $NOT token. Notcoin has quickly gained traction since its debut this year boasting over 26 million players. However, with the latest announcement on 1 March, inactive players could soon lose their "mined" Notcoins. 

According to the developers, players inactive for 30 days would see their mined coins being progressively burned, starting from the end of February. This underscores their commitment to rewarding active participation. Per an official post on Twitter, the team has started "burning Notcoins of inactive accounts (the last 30 days). Daily," marking a push to foster engagement.

Sasha Plotvinov, a co-creator of Notcoin, said that they "don't want to mint Notcoins to people who are not contributing their time to it." This policy especially targets accounts created through fake referrals, aiming to build a genuinely active community. Plotvinov added, "It's a living community, and it isn't a space for hoarders."

Notcoin's gameplay is simple yet addictive, engaging players in a "clicker" game within Telegram where tapping on a gleaming coin earns you Notcoins. With various boosts available, players can enhance their mining efforts. To date, nearly 34 trillion Notcoins have been mined, a figure set to fall as the new policy takes effect. 

Fans are now looking forward to Notcoin's transition to an on-chain token. Planned for minting on The Open Network (TON) in the coming weeks, this phase marks a huge step forward for Notcoin. TON, first launched by Telegram and later adopted by the community, continues to grow, with the platform announcing an ad revenue-sharing model in Toncoin for channel owners.

As the mining phase draws to a close, Notcoin teases exciting releases. 

"You've mined most of the Notcoins, frens. All for free, up to the very last one," the project said. "Once you claim your $NOT, no more will be minted. Then the next phase will begin. New products will be introduced – for you and millions of other people, all on TON blockchain and Telegram."
