After much deliberation, the team behind Tales of Elleria has announced the end of active development for the game. In an official message to the community, the developers cited the inability to generate sufficient revenue to sustain growth and development. However, the game’s world will remain accessible for the foreseeable future, with servers continuing to operate until funding for server costs is exhausted.
As part of the game’s closure, a final update introducing a PvP feature is set for release in September. Originally planned as a complex team combat simulation, the feature has been scaled back due to funding constraints and will now function as an auto-battler. Despite this, the update will provide a strategic environment for players to engage in battles against each other, marking the completion of the game’s development roadmap.
For Tales of Elleria's journey, the development team has introduced various features, including world bosses, the Tower of Babel, and numerous equipment and gameplay elements.
To honor the community, the developers will host one last World Boss event from September 5 to September 16, 2024. The event will feature the boss Zorag, and players will have the opportunity to compete for 50,000 $ARB in rewards. The top 200 players, ranked by cumulative damage dealt by their heroes, will share the prize pool.
The reward distribution for the event is as follows:
The $ARB rewards, sourced from the STIP bridge program, will be fully distributed by September 16, 2024.
Tales of Elleria will remain online for at least six months, with no changes planned for the game’s economy. Players will be able to continue playing and trading tokens as long as the servers are active. Additionally, the team has assured the community that no tokens will be sold, and the Discord server will be downsized to a single chat channel, with the rest set to read-only.
The game’s developers have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the community, encouraging players to take part in the final events and celebrate the memories created within Tales of Elleria.
In a final message, Tales of Elleria developer Smashe reflected on the journey, thanking the community for their support, feedback, and participation. While acknowledging the challenges that led to the game’s closure, Smashe expressed deep appreciation for the players, partners, and contributors who made the experience so memorable.
