Swords of Blood, the high-speed hack-and-slash RPG from Hit Box Games, is launching its long-awaited $HBOX token tomorrow, November 20, at 10:00 AM EST. The new token, officially titled Hit Box Token ($HBOX), will go live on Coinstore and will play a key role in the game's tournament system, in-game rewards, and marketplace activity.

This token generation event (TGE) comes after more than a year of changes within the studio, including the removal of its earlier token, $SWDTKN. The team is now looking to build a new path forward with fresh infrastructure, token utility, and a reward-based play model.

$HBOX Listing Details and Monster Hunt Challenge

Along with the listing on Coinstore, the Swords of Blood team has announced a 24-hour Monster Hunt leaderboard challenge. Set to begin at 7:00 PM EST on the same day as the listing, the challenge has a 2000 $HBOX entry fee. All entry fees will go directly into the prize pool, with winners eligible for leaderboard prizes, random draws, and NFT rewards in the form of gold, gems, and other in-game assets.

The competition will serve as a showcase of the $HBOX token's immediate utility. Players will get to use $HBOX not only to enter tournaments but also to earn real rewards through their performance in these skill-based events.

The event is powered by ApeChain and 0xSequence, both of which continue to support the title's blockchain systems.

What Is $HBOX?

$HBOX is the official governance and utility token of Swords of Blood. Built on ApeChain, it supports both in-game and out-of-game functions, bridging Web2.5 design with blockchain-based ownership and competitive play.

According to details shared in a Coinstore blog post, $HBOX has a total supply of 2 billion. The token is designed to support a wide range of player actions:

  • Tournament Entry and Staking: $HBOX is needed to join PvP tournaments and for prize pool staking.
  • Reward Payouts: High-ranking players in leaderboards will be rewarded in $HBOX.
  • NFT Purchases: Used to buy gear, characters, lottery items, and phygital collectibles.
  • Premium Access: Unlocks guild systems, special tournaments, and premium features.
  • Marketplace Use: Supports all NFT and gear trading across the in-game store.

The token is central to the game's hybrid economy, with the added option to pay via Visa, Mastercard, or Amex, making access easier for non-crypto users.

Swords of Blood Ecosystem Overview

Built by Hit Box Games, Swords of Blood is a cross-platform RPG that blends fast-paced combat with action RPG mechanics. In March 2025, the studio launched an open beta campaign that gave players the chance to earn $HBOX NFTs through gameplay. Each NFT was said to contain 2000 tokens, expected to be worth $10 at the time of token launch.

The game now reports over 50,000 total players and sees around 8,000 daily active users. Available on platforms like HyperPlay and Epic Games, the game features several core modes, including campaign, monster hunting, daily dungeon runs, and co-op boss battles.

PvP tournaments are built using Elympics tech, allowing 2–8 player matches with prize pools and real USDC rewards. This Web2.5 format removes wallet barriers for players while keeping onchain mechanics in the background.

The studio plans to expand the ecosystem further with synchronous multiplayer, new content packs, and $HBOX integration across future Hit Box Games titles.

The Fall of $SWDTKN and Why It Was Replaced

Before $HBOX, the project had a token called $SWDTKN, launched in 2023. This token was tied to early plans for Swords of Blood but was delisted shortly after release.

$SWDTKN token explanations from the Swords of Blood team

In a Discord discussion on April 18, 2025, a team member explained that the original advisors and developers were removed due to internal issues, calling them "liars and frauds." After this, the company restructured and rebuilt the game with a new internal team. The $SWDTKN token was abandoned and holders were promised a 1:1 exchange with $HBOX during the TGE. While no hard date was shared at the time, the TGE was said to be coming soon. That moment has now arrived.

The original $SWDTKN had a total supply of 1 billion and was built on Solana. It was supposed to serve as a core in-game currency for unlocking content, paying fees, and earning through PvP competitions. Its tokenomics split supply across marketing, team incentives, rewards, and seed rounds, but the system never reached full use before being shut down.

Early Token Utility Through Open Beta Campaign

Back in March, the studio held an airdrop campaign tied to gameplay. From March 1st to 31st, users could earn $HBOX NFTs by progressing through campaign levels or clearing dungeons. Each NFT was equal to 2000 tokens. These rewards were limited to 166 NFTs per day, creating a $1660 daily pool in token value. Players who earned one were placed on cooldown, limiting how many they could farm per day.

How to Join the $HBOX Launch and Monster Hunt

The $HBOX token listing will go live on Coinstore on Thursday at 10:00 AM EST. Users will be able to access trading for the token on that platform, which already serves over 10 million users worldwide. Coinstore is known for its focus on accessibility and claims to support safe and equal access to digital assets.

The Monster Hunt Challenge will begin the same day at 7:00 PM EST. To join the Monster Hunt, you'll need to pay 2000 $HBOX, with all fees going directly into the prize pool. Prizes include leaderboard rewards, random draws, and gold/gem NFTs. This event is designed to highlight $HBOX's core function in gameplay.

Looking Ahead

With this launch, Swords of Blood continues to build out its tournament-based economy and hybrid infrastructure. The studio has replaced its earlier token, $SWDTKN, and now uses $HBOX to support onchain tournament rewards, NFT transactions, and in-game access. As the system expands, $HBOX will play a central role across the game's features and broader ecosystem.
