Recently, Splinterlands revealed that it is implementing an update in its ranked reward system. Also, the company is launching its in-game currency and a new Glint Store, offering players new reward options and dynamic gameplay.
Splinterlands is well-known as a browser-based play-to-earn trading card game and functions on the Hive blockchain. It uses Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) as the primary in-game currency and Splintershards (SPS) as a governance token. It blends the elements of deck-building and auto-battler game, enabling players to engage in battle to earn rewards.
Furthermore, the new in-game currency is called ‘Glint’ and players can earn it through successful battles and burning soulbound cards. The Glint rewards are calculated based on the player’s rank and include bonuses for using older card editions and gold foil variants.
The Daily focus bonus has been removed from the game, making the rewards process simpler. The game also ensures transparency of the Glint earnings during battles and season-end rewards.
The New Glint Store and Rewards
The company is also launching its Glint Store as a focal point of this new update. It will allow players to purchase items such as cards, merits, energy, and potions directly. Not to mention, each purchase will provide a chance to acquire rare cards and gold foils to the players with higher-tier draws.
The store also provides exclusivity with three premium titles with each having bonuses to land production. There are plans for new additions in the future that may include random loot chests, promo cards, cosmetic items, and items for land production.
The new update will reduce randomness and empower the choices of the players, providing them with a better experience. Besides, Novices can expand their card collection and players can use rewards to collect titles and special items for the gameplay. The company is also integrating the SPS pool into the battle rewards, contributing to the growth of the Splinterlands ecosystem.
