Developer Mon Studio has officially kicked off PvP Leagues Era 3 and the Beacon Orbs event for their monster-catching MMORPG Spellborne, and you have a limited time to jump in for free for a chance at earning a token airdrop and rare rewards.
What Is Spellborne PvP Leagues Era 3?
PvP Leagues Era 3 is the third competitive period of Season 2: Risk and Reward, a season that started in November 2024 and introduced the PvP Leagues mode for players to compete in for gameplay-based airdrop points alongside rare goodies.
Following the end of the second Era last month, which ran from January 10th to January 31st, the third Era kicked off straight away and will last for a shorter period, as it ends on February 14th at 2:30 PM GMT. During this time, you can compete against other players in old-school turn-based gameplay for free, winning battles to climb the ELO-based leaderboard for a chance at winning rare prizes and gameplay points. Matches are 1v1 Pokémon-style fights between your monster and the opponent’s monster, choosing which strategic move you’d like to make each turn to assure victory.

You can earn useful rewards for reaching certain ELO milestones, while ranking high up on the leaderboard will help you win a larger number of gameplay points. These points are important for the game’s play to airdrop system, which allows players to collect 3 types of airdrop points that will convert to the upcoming $BORNE token. One of them fall under the Gameplay Rewards category, through which you earn points by competing in PvP Leagues, completing daily quests from the taskboard, capturing monsters, and more. The other two categories include Store Rewards and Creator Rewards; earn store points for buying season passes and chests from the in-game store, while creating content on Twitter/X with the game tagged and the hashtag #SpellborneCreate used for a chance at earning more airdrop points. All of this will help you secure a bigger airdrop allocation, with 5% of the token’s total supply said to be allocated for Season 2, which might end in March this year. The TGE for $BORNE is scheduled for Q1 2025.
Next to PvP Leagues Era 3, the developers have further updated the game by increasing the level cap to 37, adding 4 new mutations, over 40 new moves, and more, even launching the game on mobile for Android and iOS, though that version is currently limited to Apartment and Monster token holders only. If you’re new, then it’s best to jump in and play to airdrop for free by playing the game on your web browser using a Google or Apple account.
Alongside this new Era, the team has also introduced the Beacon Orbs event.

What Is the Beacon Orbs Event in Spellborne?
Beacon Orbs is a crossover event hosted in collaboration with Skillcap Studio, the developers of the free to play action roguelite RPG The Beacon, which recently got listed on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
In this event, your goal is to fight wild monsters to collect Blue Orbs, which you can then use to make moves in the 2048 minigame. There’s a 50% drop rate for Blue Orbs in wild battles, while holders of Beacon Writ Of Passage NFTs get a 75% drop rate instead. Using Blue Orbs to play the minigame is rewarded with Golden Orbs, which you can only claim after you finish the minigame. This means that if you beat the minigame or get stuck and can’t make any more moves to continue playing, the game is over and you can claim your Golden Orbs. These Golden Orbs can be spent on items in the After Market, so if you want to have a new way to buy new items, then you’ll want to collect as many Golden Orbs as you can while there’s still time to do so. If you’re a Beacon Writ Of Passage NFT holder, then you have a 75% drop rate for Blue Orbs instead of 50%.
You can join in on this event until February 12th, 3 PM GMT by hopping into Spellborne and opening the Events screen using the calendar icon on the right side of the screen (or by pressing Q), after which you can click on this specific event to start playing the minigame.
