SpeedInk, a play to earn platformer, is now officially live on PLYR L1. The launch marks the first major title to go public on PLYR's custom Layer 1 blockchain, kicking off with competitive leaderboards, onchain reward payouts, and a unique weekly-reset gameplay system. Players can now jump in and earn from a starter pool filled with 300,000 $GAMR, 25,000 $PLYR, and 10 million $SPEED tokens.
SpeedInk Goes Live with a Full Reward Pool
The game's first leaderboard event is already underway, starting with a closed race for internal testers. While this week is focused on server tests and gameplay checks, the full public release is scheduled for next week. That update will bring 5 new partner tokens, each with their own themed map, leaderboard, and reward pool.
SpeedInk is built to be fast, brutal, and addictive. Players must sprint, jump, dash, and wall-slide through tricky levels filled with hazards. These include saws, spikes, moving crushers, and deadly gaps. The goal is simple: get to the finish line faster than anyone else. But getting there takes skill, reflexes, and plenty of retries.

Built for Speedrunners and Web3 Players Alike
In SpeedInk, every second counts. The levels are packed with dangers that punish hesitation or poor timing. To win, you'll need to memorize the route, upgrade your movement perks, and master every jump. You play as an "inkling," a tiny blob of color that moves with sharp, fluid controls. One mistake sends you back to the start.
Golden Ink, the game's in-run currency, plays a central role. It can be found across each map and spent on perks that improve your time. But if you die mid-run, any Golden Ink you collected is lost. Only finishing the level banks the loot. This risk-reward system pushes players to weigh speed versus safety.
Perks, Progression, and Weekly Wipe
Every Monday at 14:00 UTC, SpeedInk resets. A brand-new map goes live, perks are wiped, and the leaderboard starts fresh. Your collected Golden Ink carries over week to week, but everything else must be earned again. That includes movement perks like Double Jump, Wall Grip, and Phantom Dash, as well as timer-based buffs like Time Freeze or Speed Chain.
Perks are obtained by spending Golden Ink on chests. Each chest gives one to three random upgrades, and duplicates can stack. This adds a layer of strategy as you build the perfect loadout to beat the clock.
Onchain Leaderboards and Weekly Rewards
SpeedInk uses a fully onchain leaderboard system. Once you've completed a solid run, you can save your time using a limited save slot, locking in your score as an NFT. This saved time becomes your entry into the current week's race. You get one free slot, but can buy more using the native token of that game version.
Rewards are pulled from the version-specific PLYR[GG] pool. 80% of all player spending goes into that pool, with 20% sent to a global leaderboard pool shared across all tokens. Every week, prizes are given out to the top 10% of players, based on fastest saved times. If fewer than 30 players compete in a version, special payout rules apply. In a tie, the earliest recorded time wins.
PLYR L1: A New Chain for Gaming
SpeedInk's launch also marks the first major game release on PLYR L1, a new Layer 1 network designed just for web3 games. First launched as a subnet, the PLYR team has now fully migrated to an Avalanche9000 Layer 1. With it comes a custom gas token ($PLYR), fast settlement, cheaper validator onboarding, and full upgrade control.
PLYR L1 supports wallet logins, smart contracts, and cross-game systems like PLYR[ID], PLYR[SWAP], and PLYR[GG]. These allow players to log in with a single identity, earn rewards directly to their account, and swap tokens within games. Developers, guilds, and DAOs can launch their own reward pools using smart contracts, with no middlemen required.

Login Options: Wallet or InstantPlayPass
To play SpeedInk, users can connect through PLYR[Connect], linking their wallet or using an InstantPlayPass. This lets anyone jump in and start playing with no wallet setup. You'll still earn rewards and can later upgrade your session to a full wallet connection.
Once connected, your runs, collected ink, and leaderboard results are all saved to your PLYR[ID]. This system works across all token versions of SpeedInk, and will apply to other games built on PLYR L1 in the future.
Token Versions and Community Maps
One of SpeedInk's key innovations is its token-based game versions. Each token project that partners with PLYR can launch a version of SpeedInk with its own visuals, theme, token usage, and leaderboard. The gameplay remains the same, but the maps, art, and reward pools change depending on which version you play.
If you're on the $PLYR version, you spend $PLYR for perks. If you're on the $GAMR version, you use $GAMR. Each token's version has a fully isolated reward pool, so communities can compete within their own space while also contributing to the global leaderboard.
Strategic Spending with Golden Ink
Golden Ink is the in-game chip used to unlock perks and open chests. It can be collected in runs or bought directly with tokens. Spending wisely is key to climbing the leaderboard. You can go for cheap chests and hope for luck or buy the more expensive triple-perk chests for faster upgrades.
Perks range from movement buffs to timer manipulation and loot boosts. Some are cumulative, meaning repeated versions increase their effect. But remember, perks reset every week, so players need to rebuild their kit each cycle.
Fair Play and Anti-Cheat
SpeedInk uses server-side checks and an AI system called SIDEKICK to watch for cheating. All runs are verified before being added to the leaderboard. Any suspicious activity leads to removal and reward loss. By tying run data to onchain save slots, the game ensures all times are real and tamper-proof.
Referral Bonuses and Real-Time Rewards
Players can invite friends to SpeedInk and earn Golden Ink bonuses. When your referee collects Golden Ink in a level, you earn 10% of it in real time, without taking anything from their total. This works across all versions of the game, meaning your referees can be playing any token map.
Built with Web3 in Mind
PLYR's mission with SpeedInk was to show what a web3-native game can do. Everything, from the perk system to leaderboard rewards, runs onchain. Smart contracts handle reward pool payouts, while players stay in full control of their accounts and assets.
With its launch, SpeedInk becomes a living example of what fast, fun-first blockchain gaming looks like. It's competitive, replayable, and built to reward players who push for the best time.
