The space game universe of Space Misfits will soon introduce the CROWN token as a replacement for the older SMC token. The team didn't provide any dates yet for the token launch or the upcoming Initial DEX Offering (IDO), but they did state that existing players should hold on to their SMC tokens.
Players who are already active in Space Misfits can earn SMC tokens. These tokens are also the standard currency in the game for various purchases. However, this will change with the introduction of CROWN. The developers advise all SMC holders to keep their tokens, as they will receive CROWN tokens through an airdrop whenever CROWN will get listed on exchanges.
Space Misfits is going through various changes, and the introduction of CROWN is just one of them. The team currently works on Disembark, a first-person shooter mode. This game mode will allow players to work together to take out enemies in procedurally generated levels. This technology to generate unique levels will also be applied to another upcoming release, Habitats. That will allow players to have their own private space station.
In the coming weeks the team will allow players to trade directly in-game. In addition they will launch a dedicated marketplace a few weeks later, so somewhere in January 2022. Furthermore new ships, factions, new avatars and new missions, tasks and rogue zones are coming to Space Misfits.
Space Misfits is a 3D space sandbox MMO. Players can hunt, collect and mine for items and resources with real-world value. Gamers are free to decide on the role they which to have in the game’s economy. They can become a space pirate, a trader or miner!
In this game players can explore the universe, gather resources, build ship components, command starships and battle other players. All these elements create an open in-game economy on the Enjin blockchain. As a result players can trade items with real value within the game itself.
Space Station Tokens are one of the most valued items in Space Misfits. This ERC-1155 token provides a true play-to-earn model inside the game. Gamers who own the Space Stations earn tokens from each transaction that happens inside these space stations. Players who own these tokens cannot simply sit back and collect. They must perform actions inside the station.
This sandbox game doesn’t have a story, but only provides a setting. Players will for example have to deal with corporate greed, space pirates taking down valuable loads or other players hunting each other. These elements provide enough story, one that’s different for every player in the game’s universe.
