Space Mavericks has officially rebranded as Gravity Blasters. The new name marks a bold step forward as the game joins the OYA Play ecosystem. This brings updated visuals, new game features, and stronger community tools, without changing the core experience that fans have come to enjoy.

A Fresh Start with OYA Play
As of today, Gravity Blasters is part of OYA Play, a rising name in the world of AI-powered web3 game publishing. This move gives the game access to new tech, wider reach, and better support for growth. OYA Play's mix of AI tools, blockchain support, and player-focused systems opens up a new chapter for the game and its community.
The team behind the game says this is more than a name change. It's a rebuild, with better visuals, more content, and deep changes to the gameplay's story and mechanics.
Airdrops Convert to $OYA
Players who previously received airdrops from Space Mavericks do not need to take any action. All past airdrops will be automatically converted to $OYA tokens, the unified currency used across all games in the OYA Play network. This keeps value steady and ensures continued rewards for early players.

NFTs Get a New Look
As part of the rebrand, all existing Space Mavericks NFTs will be replaced with new ones under the Gravity Blasters name. These updated NFTs will match the new game mechanics, style, and lore. More details about how this NFT swap will work are expected to be released soon.

Steam Playtest Begins August 2025
The first public playtest of Gravity Blasters will go live on Steam in August 2025. Players will be able to try the updated artillery shooter with real-time multiplayer combat, new commanders, and explosive planetary battles. You can wishlist the game now at: store.steampowered.com/app/1468340/Gravity_Blasters

Inside Gravity Blasters
Gravity Blasters keeps the spirit of Space Mavericks alive but expands it with more depth and faster gameplay. Built as a real-time multiplayer artillery game, players aim and shoot by adjusting angle and power. Every shot is affected by space gravity, with planets pulling projectiles off their path.
You can blast other players, destroy planets, and dodge enemy fire in fast-paced PvP or PvE battles. The game supports up to 8 players per match, with both free-for-all and team modes available. A ranked system lets players climb the leaderboard for rewards and experience.
Commanders and Ships
Each Commander in the game brings unique skills, special shots, and a custom ship. Some current examples include:
- DX7, who uses heavy firepower to knock enemies off the map
- Goliath, a tank-like leader who absorbs damage
- Salomea, who uses energy control and damage over time
- Locus, a sniper that shoots through terrain
- Lamp Head, who fires multiple projectiles at once
Commanders level up over time, unlocking new powers and skins. The team is adding more commanders and ships regularly, with feedback from players shaping the development.
Advanced Features
Trajectory Projection helps players deal with space gravity by showing the path of their shots before firing. This lets players plan better and avoid wasting energy.
Energy Management is key. Moving, defending, and firing all cost energy. When energy runs low, you're an easy target. Strategic players will manage this resource carefully during battles.
Adventure and Story Mode
Apart from multiplayer battles, Gravity Blasters includes an adventure mode. Players can fight massive bosses and explore a rich story set in a vast alien universe. New worlds, strange tech, and fierce enemies make every step a challenge.

About OYA Play
OYA Play is a web3 game publisher that uses AI to change how games are launched and grown. With tools for both developers and players, OYA Play helps teams build, test, and scale their games faster.
The platform also focuses on digital ownership. That means players can own their in-game items through blockchain tech. These assets can be used across different games in OYA.
OYA Play also supports AI-based publishing tools. GAMA, their AI Game Evaluator, helps pick which games to invest in. VERA, their AI marketing tool, helps promote games with smart targeting and growth plans.
The publisher is already working on four titles. Other than Gravity Blasters, another announced game is What The Pak?, a party game full of wild minigames and multiplayer chaos. Two more games are in development and will be announced soon.
Meet the $OYA Token
At the center of OYA Play is the $OYA token, a single token used across all games. It powers the full OYA Play ecosystem, giving it real utility for players and developers.
You can use $OYA to buy in-game items, pay for services, or access special content. Staking $OYA can unlock rewards, voting rights on game changes, and VIP ranks. This makes it more than a token; it's part of every move you make in the OYA world.
$OYA also allows for cross-game use. That means your items, boosts, or skins in one game might work in another, making each asset more useful and lasting.
There will be 3 billion $OYA tokens in total, and the system is designed for long-term growth with rewards and tools that help both players and game teams.
Looking Ahead
With the first playtest set for August and full support from OYA Play, Gravity Blasters brings a new take on real-time artillery gameplay. The game combines elements seen in classic artillery titles and multiplayer battle games, offering a mix of familiar mechanics and new features.
This rebrand positions the game for growth, backed by updated tools, reward systems, and expanded development. As OYA Play continues to grow its platform, Gravity Blasters is set to be one of its key titles.
