Fantasy football game Sorare is working with Opensea to bring limited edition cards for the fantasy football game to the market with an artistic touch. There will be 27 Liquid Dream Special Edition cards, and Sorare will auction each of them on the Opensea platform. Each card has an unique liquid design.
The collaboration between Sorare and Opensea is a first of its kind. However, this suggests that the fantasy football game is open for more creative collaborations that would merge the hype surrounding crypto art with their fantasy football game.
Just like the regular playing cards, players can use these limited edition cards in the game. However, despite the unique looks of these cards, gameplay-wise they are like rare cards. This means that the cards provide less power to their team from a gameplay perspective.
Normally Sorare offers cards in four different rarities. Firstly there are common, which can't be traded and aren't stored on the blockchain. However, rare cards do end up on the blockchain. Each season there's a maximum of only 100 rare cards per player. In addition each player has a maximum of 10 super rare cards and one unique card per season.
Each card in the Liquid Dreams series represents a player from a different club and country. However, there are multiple players for the same team or coming from the same country. For example, there are multiple players from Zenit and Juventus. In addition there are multiple Italian players as well. These are the players:
Sorare is a fantasy football game powered by blockchain technology. The project also has support from game publisher Ubisoft through the company’s entrepreneurs lab. The fantasy football game is enjoying lots of hype in recent months. For example, the game is among the most active applications on the Ethereum blockchain. In July the company received a four million dollar investment to push the game forward. Before the end of the year, the Paris-based company wants to have approximately 150 different clubs in their portfolio.
Blockchain technology introduces actual scarcity to digital cards, so these cards have a limited supply. Players can use the cards they’ve bought to create a fantasy team. Each card represents a real player. As a result of the performance of that player on the actual pitch, card holders will earn points. Weekly Sorare is handing out hundreds of playing cards and more than 7700 dollars in prizes.
The cheapest cards generally sell for a couple of dollars, while the most wanted ones go for well over a thousand dollars a piece. Join the game!
