Sorare has recently published a post sharing some product roadmap updates, including details on an alternative entry method for users in France due to a new regulatory framework for “Exchangeable In-Game Items.”

The French government is looking to propose a bill for the aforementioned framework, requiring the company to temporarily adapt by working with the French National Gaming Authority (ANJ) to form an optional entry method available only for users in France. This solution is set to go live in Sorare: Football for Game Week 374, as well as in Sorare: MLB with Game Week 17 on May 17, while a “similar” method will be introduced in Sorare: Fall at the start of the 2023-24 season.

Accessing this new method will require players in France to have a valid Sorare account with a verified phone number and proof residence. Users should also not submit a team containing NFT cards in “the related Game Week.” Essentially, through this method, users in France will not be able to continue playing Sorare with their NFT cards, but will have to use non-blockchain versions instead, receiving a randomly-generated team lineup from Sorare via email. More detailed information on this method can be found in this official dedicated article.

In other news, Sorare has revealed progress made so far on a new Cash Wallet system that will make it possible to deposit and withdraw USD, EUR and GBP from Sorare Wallets. The new system is set to release this summer and will support credit card payments, as well payments through Google Pay and Apple Pay. Bank transfers for deposits and withdrawals will also be supported, except for “payments on the Marketplace.”
