Snaky Cat Goes Live on Base With TOWER Token Rewards

Animoca Brands, in strategic partnership with their portfolio company iCandy Interactive Limited, have announced the official launch of Snaky Cat on the Base chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 network incubated by Coinbase.

What Is Snaky Cat?

Snaky Cat is a multiplayer-focused play-and-earn title reminiscent of snake games such as Slither.io. As you’d expect from such Web2 games, this snake game’s mechanics are also simple: collect food across the 2D map to make your character grow. A timer is in place and in this case, snakes are represented as cats, and the timer, representing how long you can stay alive, is extended by grabbing rare powerups represented as mice. Avoid colliding with other felines as you attempt to become the largest cat to rank at the top of the leaderboard for rewards. And that’s where the key difference is: as part of the TOWER Ecosystem, this Web3 titles gives players a chance to earn TOWER token rewards.

Commenting on the launch of the engaging title on Base, Animoca Brands co-founder and executive chairman Yat Siu said the following in the official announcement:

The game is made by Appxplore, a successful Malaysian-based mobile gaming studio that is a subsidiary of iCandy, one of the biggest game dev companies in Australia and Southeast Asia with a community of more than 370 million players.

How to Play & Earn TOWER

The game can be played from web and mobile browsers using the link in the official tweet. Once there, you can connect your wallet, but to actually play a round, you will need to have an entry ticket. This ticket can be bought with TOWER tokens for the price of 300 $TOWER, equivalent to around $0.48 at the time of writing. A round lasts for a certain period of time, with each round having its own prize pool TOWER tokens. The amount each pool will have can vary, as 80% of revenue from ticket purchases goes towards a round’s prize pool, that is distributed to the top 10 players. There are also special prizes awarded with the same token for achieving milestones such as defeating the highest number of cats, surviving the longest, and more.
