Blockchain extraction shooter Shrapnel has partnered with gamification platform Moku to introduce a questing platform for their newly revealed off-chain points system: METAL.
The off-chain currency has been made to further allow the community to engage with the studio’s ecosystem in various ways. This is done through the launch of a new social questing platform powered by Moku, who have also previously worked with Sky Mavis for The Axie and Ronin Moku Challenge. Next to the questing platform, users will also be able to earn the currency through “Enlistments” and new ecosystem games, such as “The Lunatics” and more, with more details on the latter two methods of earning to be revealed in the future.
As for the questing platform, the official announcement reveals that the first version will have participants complete social quests called Operations in order to earn the currency. As time goes on, new types of Operations will be included to add further variety. This means that you can look forward to quests based on on-chain activities such as Insignia creation and marketplace listing, but you can also anticipate in-game activities to arrive as well, rewarding you for completing missions, attaining certain achievements and more. Certain on-chain actions might also end up unlocking exclusive quests.
When it comes to utility, users will be able to spend these points on various items found in the Shrapnel Shop via Moku. These items may range from gaming gear to NFTs. It will also be usable in an upcoming Gacha-like system. Next to these ways of spending the currency, there is also cumulative utility, as collecting these points increases your Level and Tier. The higher Tier you are, the more perks you can expect to gain, among which will be higher future ecosystem rewards and discounts. Your loyalty Tier might also unlock exclusive Operations.
Last week, Shrapnel partnered with Halliday to make it easy to directly buy $SHRAP using fiat money on the ecosystem’s website.
