The web3 sheep farming game Sheepfarm in Meta‑Land has officially opened its beta version on the Immutable blockchain. This new version marks the next step in the game's long-term shift from older networks to a more mobile-focused platform. While the game is playable, the beta is not a full launch. It exists mainly to help players move their NFTs and tokens from past networks into Immutable and to test the new systems before a complete rollout later this year.

Sheepfarm's Immutable Beta Is Live: What Players Should Know

As of September 2, the Immutable beta is now open to all players. This version supports the migration of NFTs and tokens, while also giving the team time to fix bugs and polish gameplay. The legacy networks, Kaia and Oasys, remain active for now. But this is temporary. Once the beta ends, those networks will be shut down for good.

If players do not migrate their assets before the beta ends, those assets will lose all function in the game. This is a repeat of what happened when the game left the Kroma network earlier this year. Once Kroma support ended, untransferred assets were locked and could no longer be used.

Migration Instructions: NFTs and Tokens

To begin migration, players need to log into their accounts via the Sheepfarm website or mobile app.

NFTs including Sheep, Pastures, and Decors must be moved from the "Real-world" section (wallet) into "Meta‑Land" (in-game). Once that's done, the system will automatically convert them into Immutable-native NFTs.

MARD tokens, the game's main utility currency, also require action. Players need to deposit MARD into the game through the SHOP menu. After that, they should withdraw it again. This step transfers Immutable-native MARD tokens directly to their wallets.

NGIT, the governance token, is simpler. The team will take a snapshot of all NGIT held in personal wallets at the time of full launch. Based on this, the new Immutable-native version of NGIT will be airdropped automatically. No action is required if NGIT is in a personal wallet.

Liquidity providers need to take extra care. NGIT stored in liquidity pools will not be part of the airdrop. These users must first remove their liquidity, separating NGIT and MARD, before NGIT becomes eligible for the airdrop.

Beta Gameplay: Limited But Functional

The beta version is designed for testing and migration, not full content delivery. As such, some features are turned off for now. These include the Seasonal Pass, Seasonal Missions, Seasonal Shop, and all in-app purchases. These elements will return with the full launch.

Sheep Racing is also paused. This is because races only begin when enough sheep have been trained in the Racing Barn. With all progress reset, no sheep are currently race-ready. As players begin training again, the system will automatically start new races. The team plans to support this with special beta events in the coming weeks.

Transition to Mobile

The Immutable version of Sheepfarm marks the official shift toward a mobile-first approach. The web version of the game will be discontinued. All new features and updates will now be aimed at the mobile app. This move follows Immutable's focus on mobile infrastructure, which promises stronger performance and better stability.

Players new to the app can begin with Guest Log-in. From there, they can link their existing wallet to regain access to their account and assets.

Tokenomics After Migration

The migration also comes with a reset for the game's tokenomics. After all assets are moved and the final snapshot is taken, both NGIT and MARD supplies will be locked or recalibrated to reflect the new environment.

NGIT Supply: Now Fully Fixed

NGIT was originally capped at 5 million tokens. By August 2025, around 3.5 million had been issued. After the snapshot and airdrop, no more NGIT will be created. This permanently fixes the supply, giving the governance token real scarcity moving forward.

MARD Supply: Still Dynamic

MARD is handled differently. Around 3.8 million MARD were issued on the Kaia network, with roughly 1.8 million still in circulation and 1.9 million burned through gameplay. The new circulating supply on Immutable will be based on what players migrate and what tokens remain in-game during the switch.

Unlike NGIT, MARD will remain a dynamic token. Its supply will grow or shrink based on player activity and gameplay. New MARD will be minted as players earn rewards, while in-game balances and token burns will also affect total supply.

The developers say they will update the game's official guide with final token counts once the full launch happens later this year.

Looking Ahead to the Full Launch

The current beta period is expected to last until late 2025. The main purpose of this phase is asset migration and system testing. Full gameplay, events, and player acquisition efforts will come later, during the final launch.

That launch will also bring back programs like the revamped Sheepster system, designed to help grow the community. The team has confirmed that their focus right now is on technical stability, removing outdated tools, and preparing the platform for its next chapter.

What Is Sheepfarm?

Sheepfarm in Meta‑Land is a web3 sheep farming and racing game set in a candy-themed virtual world called Meta‑Land. Players raise NFT sheep, train them, and compete in races. They can also earn and use in-game currencies by selling wool, upgrading pastures, and betting on race outcomes.

The game includes two tokens: MARD, the utility token used for gameplay actions and rewards, and NGIT, the governance token with voting rights and staking functions.

Sheepfarm was previously active on the Kaia, Oasys-HOME, and Kroma networks. On May 27, 2025, the team announced the end of support for these legacy platforms. All game services on those chains were paused as of June 2025. The current beta on Immutable is focused on helping players move their assets and test the new infrastructure. This migration prepares the way for Sheepfarm's next major launch phase, planned for late 2025, with development now fully focused on mobile gameplay through Immutable.
