Shatterpoint is kicking off Season 2 on December 10, marking its return after a busy year that saw the game leave Open Loot and switch over to the Base network. The new season runs until January 5 and brings big updates to the game's maps, matchmaking, and leaderboard rewards. Season 3 will land in early 2026, followed right after by the game's long-awaited token generation event (TGE), where all player-earned Sparks will turn into $POINT.

Shatterpoint Season 2 Starts Next Week With New Map and 2M Token Reward

According to the team, the new season adds a fresh look and more reasons to play. One key highlight is Regalia, a tighter and more colorful map built to increase PvP encounters. It replaces the older Moltar layout and brings smaller paths and more chokepoints, which will likely lead to faster and more intense battles.

On top of that, players now earn Sparks from every win, even against bots. The system still rewards Crystal users the most, but regular wins now add up as well.

The season's Kaito leaderboard pool will also reward the top players with 2 million $POINT. Just like before, players can boost their score by farming Sparks in-game and placing in the top 100 for Kaito activity. There are also referral bonuses: if someone uses your code, you'll get 20% of their Sparks. If you use someone else's code, you'll get a 10% bonus on your own total Sparks before TGE.

Season 3 and TGE Expected in Early 2026

Season 3 is scheduled for mid-Q1 2026. After that, the TGE will go live, turning all Sparks earned across the first 3 seasons into $POINT tokens. These will be unlocked fully and usable right away.

Altogether, Seasons 1 through 3 make up 6% of the total token supply. These are the only $POINT rewards being given out before launch, and the team confirmed that the initial circulating supply at TGE will stay under 10%. That includes the liquidity pool used for trading on Base. Once the TGE happens, tokens will no longer be earned as Sparks. Instead, players will begin collecting $POINT directly through gameplay.

What Happened With Shatterpoint and Open Loot?

Shatterpoint originally launched Season 1 through the Open Loot platform in September. The game had already been in the making since 2021 and had partnered with Big Time Studios for 2 years before opening to the public on iOS and Android.

Season 1 gave players a chance to earn Sparks through PvP matches, leaderboard tasks, and use of special NFTs like Charged Crystals and Cosmetics. These items boosted farming efficiency and let players collect more Sparks per win. Crystals had to be crafted and charged using Dust, a premium in-game currency, and would expire after a set number of battles.

But things changed later that same month. On September 25, Open Loot announced a change in direction and cut support for several partner games, including Shatterpoint. The studio was forced to move off the platform, causing a delay of about 2 months while assets were migrated and systems were rebuilt.

The team took that time to move everything over to the Base network. Now, with migration complete, all NFTs, player data, and Sparks have been carried over. This switch also allowed the team to launch a new roadmap and regain full control of development.

How $POINT Will Work After Launch

$POINT is a community-owned token with a total supply of 1 billion. There are no allocations set aside for the team, investors, or advisors. About 95% of all tokens will go to the community, while 5% is held for ecosystem needs like liquidity and marketing.

The token will launch on decentralized exchanges only, unless a centralized exchange adds it for free. No extra tokens will be minted after TGE. All emissions come from gameplay, and any earned rewards will follow a fixed release schedule lasting 24 months across 23 planned seasons.

This setup makes it a "fair launch" model. After TGE, development will be funded by in-game purchases and NFT sales rather than token sales. No private sales or early unlocks have taken place.

NFTs and Spark Farming Basics

To earn Sparks, players need to equip Charged Crystals. These are crafted using NFT Forges and must be infused with Dust before use. Higher rarity Forges and Crystals give better returns.

There are 3 types of NFTs in Shatterpoint: Utility, Equipment, and Cosmetics. Utility NFTs include Crystals and Crystal Forges. Equipment NFTs can be dismantled for crafting materials. Cosmetics add visual style and also give small bonuses to Spark gains. They don't affect gameplay or matchmaking.

Matchmaking is based on gear power. This means new players won't be thrown into matches against high-level opponents. Cosmetic or Crystal rarity doesn't affect matchmaking either.

For the best Spark farming, players are advised to use high-rarity Crystals, fill all gear slots, and win as many matches as possible. Crystals give the biggest edge, but even without them, you can still get a small stream of Sparks from match victories.

With Season 2, the developers have slightly increased Crystal output to balance the new rewards coming from bot and player wins. This keeps the farming pace stable as more players join in and prepare for the TGE.

Shatterpoint's Road to TGE

The game has gone through big changes this year. After starting strong with Open Loot, it was forced to move fast when the platform restructured. That led to a pause in content, a full blockchain migration, and the rebuilding of some core systems.

Now, with the Base chain fully in use and rewards locked in through Seasons 1 to 3, the game is entering its final stage. The team says that roadmap dates might still change depending on development, but for now, the current plan is locked in.

Season 2 begins December 10. Season 3 will follow in early 2026. The TGE happens right after that. At that point, Sparks will vanish and $POINT will become the game's only reward currency.
