Blockade Games has finally enabled the use of Season Zero NFTs in Neon District, which is possible after moving them over from Ethereum to Polygon. Neon District Season Zero gear are shells that users can apply as a new look to their armor, while also providing a bonus level up the first time you apply the shell.
Users can migrate their Season Zero asset from Ethereum to Polygon. This will retire the Ethereum NFT, and create a new shell asset on Polygon. In addition players will receive a base item, allowing them to apply to Shell immediately. Furthermore, Neon District will give 7500 NEON as a compensation for the gas fees involved in bridging the asset.
In support of the Season Zero shells, Neon District will introduce five new sets of armor and five weapons. These will be distributed through loot crates, which players can buy using NEON.
Blockade Games is working on big plans to introduce a V2 of Neon District in 2022. Neon District will introduce factions, holding to principles like survival, rebellion and vanity. They are also building a map of Shen-Ju, which will become a dashboard interface for various gameplay and activities. Furthermore, players will be able to bind and unbind NFTs to their character. This will allow them to transfer or sell a character with all their gear attached.
Neon District is a cyberpunk-themed turn based role playing game. The story-driven game takes place in a dystopian future. Player are part of a rebellion fighting an authoritarian regime. Players get to level up their characters by doing missions, while they have a chance of obtaining better gear as well.
A closed test version came available for founders token holders in December 2020. During Spring 2021 Neon District introduced more missions. This traditional singleplayer experience was the original vision for the game. Completing missions will earn players NEON as well.
Thanks to the integration with the Polygon blockchain, these game assets can be traded freely on an in-game marketplace. That way gamers don’t have to deal with gas fees while playing Neon District. Players can acquire gear through gameplay. They also need these digital items to progress in the game.
Neon District is a web-only experience, and everything works on both desktop and mobile devices. In the future they also want to make the game available through a standalone app for mobile devices.
