Classic IP Meets On-Chain Gaming

Seal M on CROSS is now live. The MMORPG, co-published by PLAYWITH KOREA Inc. and NEXUS CO., Ltd., opened its servers globally on March 19, delivering the cartoon-style combat of the early-2000s PC title Seal Online to mobile and PC audiences worldwide. The grand opening followed a pre-registration run that attracted 2.2 million sign-ups across multiple regions, with particularly strong traction reported in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam and Indonesia.

The game drops players into the world of Shiltz, a fantasy continent built around seasonal ranking competition, dungeon runs, field boss encounters, and a fishing minigame. Seven playable classes are available at launch: Knight, Warrior, Mage, Priest, Jester, Cook, and Hunter. Each brings a distinct combat role, from the melee-heavy Warrior swinging a two-handed sword to the Cook, a ranged debuffer armed with culinary tools and PVP-tuned magic skills.

The title runs on Android, iOS, and PC through the CROSS Play launcher, with a single unified global server rather than region-locked instances. That design choice places all players from every territory inside the same competitive leaderboard and economy, making rank meaningful at a worldwide scale.

How the Tokenomics Work

CROSS integration is the headline feature for the web3 gaming crowd. The economic model centers on Shiltz Crystal, an in-game resource earned through ranked seasonal gameplay. Players accumulate ranking points by completing Rift, Field Boss, and Dungeon content alongside daily and seasonal Shiltz Pass missions. At the close of each season, a fixed pool of 10 million Shiltz Crystals is distributed to players according to their final Shiltz Ranking position.

Those Crystals can then be converted into SHILTZx, an on-chain token within the CROSS ecosystem, through a mint-and-burn mechanism. The fixed seasonal supply of 10 million units is hard-capped with no additional issuance, meaning acquisition is limited to either earning a season's distribution through gameplay or purchasing via a DEX. SHILTZx functions as the exclusive currency for buying limited Ooparts, the game's highest-tier items, tying token demand directly to in-game progression.

Crucially, the blockchain layer is optional. PLAYWITH KOREA has positioned the web3 mechanics as additive rather than mandatory. Players who want a straight MMORPG experience can engage with all core content without ever touching the tokenomics side.

780,000 CROSS Tokens Up for Grabs at Launch

Beyond SHILTZx, the launch event distributes a total of 780,000 CROSS tokens to participants. Players can earn them by completing mission-based tasks such as achieving a first job advancement and joining a guild. The CROSS token is the native asset of the broader CROSS on-chain gaming platform and sits at the center of an ecosystem that also includes CROSS Wave, a streamer rewards platform that incentivizes content creation, and CROSS Play, a mission layer designed to drive engagement across titles.

Binance Pay support is also noted as an upcoming integration, adding fiat on-ramp convenience for the game's global player base.

A Partnership Built on Prior Success

Seal M on CROSS is not the first title born from the NEXUS and PLAYWITH KOREA partnership. The two companies previously co-published R.O.H.A.N.2 Global on the CROSS platform, establishing the template for combining an established Korean game IP with NEXUS's blockchain infrastructure.

PlaywithKorea CEO Hakjun Kim stated: "We will prove the Seal intellectual property (IP) in the global market through cartoon-rendering graphics, the combo system and the CROSS platform."

Nexth CEO Hyun-guk Jang said he expects Seal M on CROSS to "once again prove the successful formula of combining an excellent game IP and blockchain," and added that "all services in the CROSS ecosystem will be organically combined to further raise the game's chances of success."

Shiltz World and the Journey's and Invitation Event

Alongside the grand opening, NEXUS and PLAYWITH KOREA launched a migration initiative called Journey's and Invitation. Aimed at players who were already active in the original Seal M mobile version, the event converts prior in-game activity into ranking points redeemable within Seal M on CROSS. Rewards include pets and costume summon tickets, bridging the existing player community into the new blockchain-integrated environment without requiring them to start from zero.

The CROSS Platform

Seal M on CROSS is among the more prominent MMORPGs to build its token economy directly around seasonal competitive rankings rather than open-ended grind loops. The 10-million-unit hard cap per season, combined with Ooparts acting as a high-demand sink for SHILTZx, reflects a design philosophy aimed at longer-term economic stability. Whether the single global server model and rank-based distribution can sustain competitive interest across a worldwide player pool at scale will be the central test for the game's blockchain layer in the seasons ahead.

The game is available for download now on Google Play, the App Store, and via the PC launcher at sealm.com. The active launch event distributing 780,000 CROSS tokens through mission completion is live for all new players.
