Basketball mobile game Rumble Kong League (RKL) is officially migrating to the Ronin Network while extending their soft launch airdrop campaign with exclusive quests and more rewards.
In the official announcement thread, the developers of the free to play 3v3 sports game consider this partnership a big “slam dunk” for the future of RKL and NFT holders, noting the gaming chain’s impressive stats. Because this is one of, if not the biggest web3 gaming blockchain currently around, the team considers this a massive move for the future of their franchise. According to the highlighted data in the X thread, there has been 17.2 million downloads of the Ronin Wallet, and $71.2 million total NFT marketplace volume. The native token $RON is listed on 16 exchanges, including Binance and Coinbase, with 18.9 million wallets holding the token, according to the revealed statistics that contain data tracked by the end of 2024.
To celebrate this collaboration, the soft launch, which kicked off on December 19th with a $FAME airdrop campaign on December 19th, has now been extended to January 26th, giving players more time to play to airdrop $FAME ahead of TGE. It was initially supposed to end around January 19th, but the team decided to accompany the big migration announcement with an extension to the campaign, thus inviting the Ronin community to jump in and hoop and earn for free. This means that the extension brought 3 more seasons of Sigma League to play. As of writing, there is now 2 seasons left before the airdrop campaign is over.
Sigma League is the top league that you can rank up to and compete in, with $FAME rewards distributed to the top 1000 players every 3 days. A new season means everyone’s rank in this league resets, giving players another opportunity to go for the higher ranks for bigger rewards.
Speaking of rewards, for these last few soft launch seasons, the team has decided to double the number of $FAME rewards eligible players get in the Sigma League. So, if you rank in the 101st – 1000th range, you will now get 200 $FAME instead of 100. Here’s how reward distribution in the Sigma League looks like for these bonus seasons:
Next to doubling the rewards, exclusive new quests have been added to the game that you can access by connecting your Ronin Wallet. If you’re a Kong NFT holder, then good news: you now have unlimited league tickets for the rest of this campaign!
If you’re new to Rumble Kong League, which is backed by Animoca Brands, Stephen Curry, Paul George, Gatorade, and more, then you should head to the Play Store or App Store to download the fast-paced title for free on Android or iOS and start collecting $FAME points through gameplay. Download links can be found in Ronin's announcement. Make sure to open your in-game profile to connect your wallet before the soft launch is over in order to qualify for the upcoming airdrop. The $FAME rewards you collect in-game are likely points that will be converted to $FAME tokens at an unspecified ratio. The TGE for $FAME is planned to take place by the end of January or early February.
Thanks to this migration, you now have the option to connect your Ronin Wallet through the game’s web dashboard, unlocking exclusive Ronin-only quests in the process.
You can connect your wallet by opening your in-game profile and tapping on the “Manage Profile” button to open up the web dashboard, where you can log in and connect your Ronin wallet. Alternatively, you can also do this on your PC web browser by heading to the game’s official website and logging in from there, after which you can click on your profile and open up the account settings to connect your wallet.
Previously you were only able to connect your Ethereum wallet such as MetaMask, but thanks to this migration, you can now also add in your Ronin Wallet. Doing so will unlock exclusive in-game quests that will only appear in the Quest screen of the game once you have connected your wallet. Completing these quests gives you more $FAME points, so make sure to try and complete as many of them as you can to potentially win a bigger airdrop allocation.
