Game development studios Confiction Labs and Agate have announced the launch of the first public demo for Riftstorm, now live during the Steam Next Fest with a variety of new content for newcomers and returning players to enjoy for free since last year’s open alpha playtest. Next to the demo, there is also a wishlist giveaway that anyone can join on Raijin for a chance at winning a share of up to $10k worth of prizes.
From June 9 to June 16, 10 AM PT, gamers can play a public game demo of Riftstorm for free and experience a variety of new gameplay content that give you an early glimpse of the many features to come in the game’s official launch.
For this demo, players can enjoy playing as 4 fully-unlocked Weavers, which are distinct playable characters with a diverse range of weapons, abilities, and stats. They can be levelled up to 30 to further improve their attributes, but for this release, all of the 4 elite operatives are maxed out to level 30 already, so you can enjoy playing them in their ultimate form straight away. Except for weapons though, as for those you will still need to progress through missions to get rarer ones.
Next 4 powerful Weavers, this version features 4 Curated Missions to shoot your way through. These new missions include 2 standard combat dungeons that are designed to help get you the gear you need, while the other two are Operation 1411 and Operation Marble Obelisk. Operation 1411 is a survival-extraction challenge that puts you in a challenging “tower-defense-styled marathon of chaos,” while Operation Marble Obelisk builds upon the previous mission by having you use the weapons looted in 1411 for an action-packed final battle.
Alongside all this new content, the developers have introduced a simplified loadout and Periapt system specifically for this demo. There is also full solo and co-op support, so you can brave the sci-fi environments on your own or hop into 3-player co-op for some exciting isometric roguelite gameplay.

The Riftstorm team is collaborating with web3-powered rewards platform Raijin to host a wishlist giveaway through which anyone has a chance at winning a share of up to $10k worth of prizes by simply wishlisting the game on Steam.
Wishlisting the game gets you 10 entries, and you can gain 5 more entries by adding the game to your Steam library.
You can participate by heading to the official giveaway page on their platform, where you can sign up using your Steam account. The giveaway started on June 9 and ends on June 18 at 10 PM UTC, after which the winners will be selected. Up to 400 players will be randomly picked as the winners, with participants who are drawn earlier being the ones that win a bigger share of prizes.
The maximum prize pool for this giveaway is $10k, but whether that limit is reached depends ultimately on the number of participants. The more people join in, the more prize pool tiers unlock for a bigger reward pool. At the time of writing, around 2000 participants have signed up, putting the giveaway at tier 4, which means a current prize pool of $2500. Almost 500 more participants are needed to reach tier 5, which unlocks a $5000 prize pool.
