Following the launch of the VIP Alpha for eligible players at the start of December, the developers of web3 racing ecosystem Rebel Cars have now officially launched the Public Demo, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy the studio’s flagship Elysium-powered blockchain game for free. While you’re trying the game out, you might as well jump into a very limited time event that started on December 21st, 3:30 PM UTC, and will end on December 23rd, 3:30 AM UTC.
What’s Included in the Rebel Cars Public Demo?
This playable public alpha version launched on December 16th in the form of a free demo that is described as being “officially the FIRST Web3 sim racing game,” according to the X announcement.
In this exclusive Public Alpha Demo v0.01, the developers give the community the first hand opportunity to experience the studio’s very own custom physics engine as you strive to get the best lap times that you can. Since there is no multiplayer support yet, you’ll be racing the tracks on your own for the time being.
If you’re a fan of games such as iRacing and the Forza franchise and are looking for an equivalent game in the world of web3 gaming, then you may want to hop into this free to play title by downloading the game on Windows. The download link can be found in the announcement section of the game’s official Discord server.
This weekend is a great time to start playing if you haven’t already, because you now have an opportunity to earn $RC tokens and NFTs by putting your racing skills to the test in a new limited time event: the Ultimate 36-Hour Time Attack Challenge. Here’s how you can participate for free!

What Is the Rebel Cars Limited Time Event About?
The limited time event is a Time Attack Challenge during which players have 36 hours to try and record the best lap time to earn rewards.
To participate in this Ultimate 36-Hour Time Attack Challenge, you will have to download and play Rebel Cars using one of these 2 beasts: the Lamborghini Murcielago, or the Nissan GT-R.
Both cars actually have their own separate prize pools, so you could try and get the fastest laps with both of them for a bigger chance of winning some $RC tokens, and possibly NFTs as well.
Specifically, there are rewards up for grabs for the top 3 players for both cars. This means that if your lap time with the Lamborghini ranks in the top 3, you will win rewards allocated to that vehicle, but if you race with the Nissan and rank in the top 3 for that car, you’ll be distributed prizes allocated for that vehicle instead.
That being said, the fastest racer with the Lamborghini Murcielago will win the Buick Enclave DTM HG-W RC NFT alongside 1000 $RC tokens, which are worth around $26 at the time of writing. The NFT car however is priced at $100 worth of $RC tokens on the game’s official store, and there are currently no listings for it from the ecosystem’s secondary P2P marketplace. For those who rank 2nd or 3rd with the Lambo, you will earn 750 $RC and 500 $RC tokens respectively.
If you’re the quickest driver of the Nissan GT-R, then you can look forward to receiving a Honda Civic 2023 Type R NFT, as well as 1000 $RC tokens. This NFT is also valued at $100 on the official store, with no one selling it on the secondary marketplace at the time of writing. Just like with the Lamborghini, you can also win 750 $RC tokens here for ranking 2nd, or 500 $RC for clinching the 3rd spot.
Next to these rewards, everyone who participates in this event has a chance of randomly being chosen to win a Volkswagen Golf GTI (WIP) plus 100 $RC tokens. The 3D model for this NFT is actually not fully ready yet, hence the WIP tag. That’s probably why you can currently get it at a 50% discount from the official store, where it costs $5 in $RC (~168 $RC).
The Discord announcement for this event also states that 5 random runner-ups will be rewarded with 200 $RC tokens each, but if more than 30 players join this weekend challenge, then there will be 10 random winners instead. You can even win 500 $RC if you help resolve one specific bug currently present in the demo, or explain why and how this problem happens sometimes. Find out what it is by heading to the Discord thread linked in the official announcement message.
To participate and rank on the event leaderboard, simply submit your best lap time in the Time Attack thread on Discord while sharing a picture and a video in which the team can clearly see your submitted time and car used. Good luck!
