RavenQuest is set to launch its next major update, Munk Madness, on November 22, bringing with it a wave of new systems, festive events, and PvP overhauls. The expansion opens the Munk Carnival to all players, a vibrant in-game festival first tested back in October. Along with the Carnival, players can expect new pets, revamped guild warfare, and riskier but more rewarding gameplay in dungeons.

What Is RavenQuest?

RavenQuest is a free to play old-school sandbox MMORPG built on the Immutable Chain. Launched globally on March 14, it is a web3 version of the earlier Ravendawn Online, set in a pixel-style fantasy world. The game combines deep MMO mechanics with blockchain elements, allowing players to own their land and gear as digital assets.

In RavenQuest, players explore the larger world of Ravencrest, take on monsters, craft items, and join guilds for both PvE and PvP combat. It's available via the official launcher and the Epic Games Store, with a mobile version currently in the works.

Munk Madness Arrives

On November 22, players will be able to step into Munk Madness, a content update focused on fun, gambling, and competitive features. The main highlight is the Munk Carnival, a social zone filled with mini-games, flashy visuals, and special rewards. During its test phase on October 22, only Landowners had access, but the full launch will be open to everyone.

The Carnival includes 3 major attractions: Moa Racing, the Lucky Raffle, and the Fortune Wheel. All games revolve around betting and collecting special currencies, with rewards for top performers.

Munk Carnival currencies and events

The Munk Carnival

Set through the Root Portal in Ravencrest, the Carnival is a peaceful area where players can unwind from battle and take part in activities of chance. It's a mix of cheering crowds, music, and fast-paced games designed to offer both fun and prizes.

There are no entry limits or level gates, and the only requirement is a bit of Silver or Lucky Coins to exchange for Carnival Chips. These are the main currency used across all games in Carnival. Winning or losing still earns players Carnival Stubs or Lucky Stubs, which can be used to spin the Fortune Wheel for more prizes.

Moa Racing

Moa Racing: Quick Matches and Big Bets

Moa Racing happens every 2 minutes and features 6 wild, unpredictable bird creatures racing on a colorful track. Each Moa has its own personality, and outcomes can be hard to predict. Bets are placed through the Munk Bookie using either Carnival Chips or Lucky Chips.

Once the countdown begins, players gather in the stands and watch the chaos unfold. The crowd roars as birds sprint, stumble, and sometimes make surprise comebacks. Only 1 Moa can win, making this a popular and exciting part of the Carnival experience.

The Lucky Raffle: Hosted by Cornelius Goldwhisker

Every 72 hours, you can take part in the Lucky Raffle, run by the over-the-top character Cornelius Goldwhisker. Tickets cost Carnival Chips and each one increases your odds of taking home the grand prize.

Once the draw ends, one lucky player will receive a major reward, anything from rare cosmetics to valuable items. After each round, all entries are cleared and a new raffle begins.

The Fortune Wheel: Try Your Luck Again

The Fortune Wheel lets players turn in Stubs for a shot at special items, including the new pet companions. There are 2 wheels: one for Carnival Stubs and one for Lucky Stubs. Both can also be spun using Lucky Coins.

Prizes range from regular items to pets, making this another top spot for gamblers and collectors alike.

Carnival Currency and Leaderboards

Munk Madness introduces Carnival Chips and Lucky Chips, which can be earned, spent, and even exchanged for Silver or Lucky Coins. There's also a leaderboard system that tracks the total amount of Lucky Chips a player has wagered.

At the very top, the best bettors will unlock the King's Gambit Adornment, a shiny crown that marks them as true masters of chance.

PvP Overhaul: New GvG and Open World Combat

While the Carnival focuses on fun, Munk Madness will also update the game's Guild versus Guild (GvG) and open-world PvP systems. A new feature called the Open World PvP Monolith will be added, allowing players to fight over valuable zones.

Exact details on how the Monolith works weren't shared yet, but the update promises better balance, new rewards, and larger-scale battles between guilds. PvP has long been a key feature in RavenQuest, and this update aims to push that even further.

Pets Arrive in Ravencrest

Munk Madness will also include a new Pet System. These companions can join players on their travels, though it's not yet clear if pets will offer gameplay advantages or remain cosmetic.

Pets are part of the rewards system from the Carnival and Fortune Wheel, giving players another reason to test their luck and take part in the event.

New High-Stakes Challenges

The update will also bring tougher PvE features. Expeditions and Aether Echoes will include a high-stakes system with higher difficulty and bigger rewards. These changes will add more tension and offer bigger payoffs for risk-takers in both solo and group content.

There will also be a major balance patch included in the release. This will mean class adjustments, item changes, and updates that are expected to affect both the PvP and PvE scenes. No major changes to core combat have been confirmed yet.

Themed Mounts and Seasonal Additions

Alongside gameplay updates, Munk Madness will introduce new themed mounts. These cosmetic additions will fit the Carnival theme and give players another way to stand out. Their exact designs have not been revealed, but they will be part of the wider expansion.

The expansion will arrive more than a week after RavenQuest's Halloween event wraps up on November 13. Known as the Harvest Eve event, this seasonal activity will end just before Munk Madness begins, closing out with double experience, festive decorations, and limited-time rewards.
