Developer Tavernlight Games has officially announced August 15 as the launch date for RavenQuest’s first major expansion: The Treasures Below.
What Is RavenQuest?
RavenQuest is an old school sandbox Immutable zkEVM-powered MMORPG that is based on a fork of self-published web2 MMO Ravendawn, which successfully garnered more than 200k monthly active unique players. Embark on a grand journey across a massive top-down fantasy world as you create your customizable pixelated hero, gather various resources, craft powerful gear, build your own house and engage in real-time PvP and PvE combat.
This player-driven, sandbox-focused game launched globally on March 14, 2025 as a downloadable free to play title for Windows PCs, while a mobile version is still in the works. Get started by registering on the official website and downloading the launcher. Once the expansion is live, you will also be able to download the game through the Epic Games Store.
What Is The Treasures Below Expansion?
The Treasures Below is the first major expansion for RavenQuest, launching on August 15 with a wealth of new content to enjoy, including new challenges, systems, and rewards.
Specifically, this release will introduce Expeditions, a roguelike system which give players a new and unique challenge to enjoy in each run while attempting to earn rewards in the process. The tougher the challenge is, the more loot you can expect to gain should you complete it.
Expeditions won’t be the only new way to play and earn new treasures, as this expansion brings with it a full MMR Arena system to unlock true Ranked Arena PvP gameplay. According to a new dedicated dev blog, Arenas will allow players to compete in fast-paced, 2v2 PvP combat through a series of 3 consecutive rounds. You will be able to enter as a duo by forming a party with a friend, or you can queue up solo and get auto-matched with another solo player. You won’t be able to play this at any time though, as Arenas will be open 3 times a day, and in each of those timeframes, you will be able to play up to 3 matches. You have 30 minutes to complete one match and are allowed to enter the Arena 15 minutes before the match begins. To gain access to this PvP system, you will need to be at least Legacy Level 65. Warforged Skills will be fully enabled, and there will be no rarity restrictions for RavenCards, so you can use your own build. By winning and increasing your MMR, you earn Fame and possibly other unique rewards.

Alongside these huge new gameplay systems, you can look forward to seeing new Archetypes added in to the web3 title, unlocking over 60 new classes. Expect new weapon types to be added in, as well as a Mass Collect function for your Land, so you can just gather everything you have with the click of a button instead of going one by one.
This expansion will also introduce Gemstones, a new item that will allow you to customize your gear in new ways. A new seasonal event called the Thaw Festival is included as well, one that is said to be “filled with unique lore” and limited-time event rewards. The Ostera area will be getting new high-level spawns to give you more challenging enemies to slay. You can also look forward to more cosmetics for new personalization options, as well as 2 new Rift maps to progress through. It looks like a new type of cosmetic item called Adornments is also being added in to give players another way to display “a true next level flex of success.”
Last but not least, the expansion will mark the launch of $QUEST Ecosystem 2.0, together with new token sinks and utility upgrades. It looks like the team intends to reshape its play to earn economy and add more value to $QUEST by giving players new ways to make use of their earnings instead of just selling them, but details on what to expect from this overhaul have not been revealed at the time of writing.
If you want to find out more about all these new features coming to The Treasures Below expansion, then be sure to keep an eye on the game’s social medial channels in the coming weeks, as the developers intend to gradually release more information on all these new additions in the lead up to launch. You can see the teaser roadmap in the official X announcement thread below for an idea of when certain info will come out.
On the same day this expansion launches, the game should also go live on the Epic Games Store, opening the accessible web3 MMORPG up further to a wider gaming audience.
While we don’t know how the new changes to the $QUEST ecosystem will affect the game’s play to earn mechanics, here is how you can currently get started with earning the game’s token by playing RavenQuest for free.
How to Play and Earn in RavenQuest
In RavenQuest, players can play and earn $QUEST tokens for free by completing Bounties and converting Silver Coins, an in-game currency earned through a variety of gameplay activities. Players can easily and safely convert Silver Coins through an in-game, peer-to-peer exchange system.
Bounties offer in-game rewards and a chance of earning $QUEST tokens by completing a wide range of tasks that can include delivering certain items and participating in specific activities.
To earn Silver Coins, you simply have to play the game and engage with its core systems that consist of completing story quests and dynamic quests, playing mini-games, engaging in PvE and PvP combat, crafting various items, creating Tradepacks, and more. The Tradepack system is one of the biggest economic elements in this MMO, and you can earn Silver from it by creating packages of products to transport at Tradeposts. You can create Tradepacks using a vast array of different resources and materials that you can collect and earn in the game for free. You can find Tradeposts scattered throughout the map, and that is where you should head to with the acquired resources to create a Tradepack and earn Silver for doing so.
This is how you can currently play and earn in RavenQuest, but it remains to be seen how much of this will change in about 3 weeks, when The Treasures Below expansion is officially live with all its massive new additions and changes.
