Following a successful open beta test, game developer Tavernlight Games has officially announced October 11 as the global release date for Season 1 of RavenIdle, with the launch fully opening up the game to the public to play to earn in on web browsers, mobile devices, and Telegram.
Let’s check out what’s in store for the game’s first official season.
What’s New in RavenIdle Season 1?
Season 1 of RavenIdle will allow players to play to earn from a guaranteed prize pool of $70k in $QUEST rewards, which could go by up to $570k worth of $QUEST tokens depending on Battle Pass purchases, with 100% of sales said to be going towards the prize pool. This means that acquiring the Battle Pass is necessary to play and earn from seasonal reward pools.
These were the reward details initially revealed back in July for Season 0, and while this info does seem to still apply for the official launch, the developers do plan on launching a dedicated page that contains everything you need to know about this upcoming season. Back in a development update X thread near the end of July, it was suggested that the game’s first season will feature increased rewards than was planned for Season 0, so it will be interesting to see how reward-packed this launch will actually be.
Once the new season page goes live, you will also be able to pre-purchase the Battle Pass before the season starts, a feature that’s been highly requested by the community. It will also be possible to get Battle Pass Codes, making it simple to gift Battle Passes to your friends.
Next to gifting Battle Passes, you can also use your Referral Code to bring new players to the game and this growing ecosystem. By bringing referrals in, you will be able to climb a new Referral Leaderboard, which is said to feature $10k in rewards up for grabs for anyone who gets at least 1 referral. The top 20 referrers will of course get to earn a larger share of this bonus prize pool, with the highest-ranked participant receiving $1000 worth of prizes. Aside from the value, the specific rewards were not revealed at the time of writing. However, you don’t have wait for the new page to be up and running, as this post from the official X thread states that you can start referring friends right away by logging in to the game’s website. Both past and new referrals already count towards this new leaderboard.
The reason the team decided on the October 11 release date is said to be the following:
“We decided on the October 11th launch date to give the community time to get locked and loaded for the massive Season 1 launch, and to allow us to build out even more reward systems for those sharing with the world about RavenIdle, like the over $10,000 Referral Reward Pool.”
This timeframe is also said to give the developers more time to deliver “an incredible and seamless onboarding experience for all users” by adding more accessibility options. That being said, you can likely expect the launch to include support for connecting with MetaMask wallets.
What Is RavenIdle?
RavenIdle is a free to play idle RPG and the second title in the Immutable zkEVM-powered RavenQuest ecosystem. Developed in-house by Tavernlight Games, it builds on the studio’s flagship MMORPG and expands the universe by introducing a new blockchain games that puts on-chain mechanics within an idle format. Players create custom classes through branching skill trees, venture through progressively difficult dungeons, and face a variety of fantasy monsters in automated combat. The game continues to progress even while offline, with rewards earned from dungeon runs, daily missions, and resource gathering. Players can also manage land, craft equipment, and send out Tradepacks to different cities for additional rewards.
Although accessible to all players, participation in the web3 economy is tied to the game’s Battle Pass. Purchasing a Battle Pass is set to grant eligibility for $QUEST token rewards, with revenue contributing to seasonal prize pools, according to plans previously outlined by the developers.
RavenIdle is part of a broader ecosystem that includes RavenQuest, the studio’s top-down MMORPG. The plan was to initially launch Season 0 for the idle game back in July 2025, but that was postponed after technical issues surfaced. In an official X announcement, the developers acknowledged that the game’s backend had been “built poorly, even for a small audience,” and that the surge of players highlighted the limits of their initial “Hail Mary approach.” As a result, the engineering team committed to a full rebuild of the backend to better support the project.
Two months later, the studio reported that the rebuild is complete and that the game is ready for broader access. Rather than immediately starting a new season though, the developers opened the game up to a limited time open beta test. This phase was brought in to test the stability of the new backend and make sure the game can sustain a larger playerbase ahead of the global launch of Season 1. Anyone was able to hop in and playtest for free from September 10 to September 17. The complete backend rebuild seems to have paid off, as the stress test went fairly well, with the team now focused on adding in any necessary fixes and polish to make sure the game is ready for its worldwide launch.
As you wait for this new play to earn game to go live and more detailed reward info to surface with the new dedicated page, you can also play and earn in RavenQuest, which is available as a free to play download on PC via the official website as well as the Epic Games Store, where it recently launched alongside the Treasures Below expansion. In August, the developers introduced the Expedition Leaderboard, which distributed 2.8 million $QUEST tokens over a 4-week period.
