Blockchain gaming studio Delabs Games has announced August 4 as the Early Access launch date for their new web3 game, Ragnarok Libre.

What Is Ragnarok Libre?

Ragnarok Libre is a web3 idle RPG with a player-driven economy that anyone can participate in while enjoying varied PvP and PvE gameplay content. Set within the Ragnarok universe, players battle their way through increasingly challenging PvE dungeons while engaging in PvP battles, embarking on boss raids, crafting a wide range of gear, trading on the game’s official marketplace, and joining and contributing to a guild to collectively help each other in earning various rewards.

This title is said to be the first official Ragnarok IP “to introduce an open economy on a social platform,” according to their official wiki. It’s set to launch on web browsers and LINE, with a Telegram release to follow later on. This all refers to the game’s “Grand Launch” however. That being said, the list of platforms for the Early Access launch on August 4 were not announced, but you can probably expect it to at least go live on PC as a browser-based game.

How to Play Ragnarok Libre in Early Access

This early release will not be free to play. To play the game in Early Access, you need to hold at least 3000 $DELABS tokens. Anyone who does so will be able to jump in and start playing.

The official X announcement only states that you need to hold the tokens, so you will likely not have to spend them to enter the game. That being said, if you already hold the required amount of tokens, then this is practically free entry for you. If you don’t, you will have to acquire them through a decentralized or centralized exchange such as PancakeSwap, Uniswap, MEXC, or Gate.io. If you get it on a CEX, you will have to move your tokens over to your own crypto wallet on the BNB Chain. As of writing (about 6 hours after TGE), 3000 $DELABS tokens is worth around $47 at a token price of $0.01558.

Once you have enough tokens on your wallet on the BSC network, you will be ready to connect and play in this early token-gated launch phase. All your progress made by playing throughout this release will carry over into the game’s upcoming Grand Launch.

How to Play and Earn $DELABS in Ragnarok Libre

In Ragnarok Libre, players can play and earn $DELABS tokens through seasonal airdrops.

To become eligible for a seasonal token airdrop, you will want to earn Libre Emblems, Delabs Points, and Poring Coins.

Libre Emblems are soulbound tokens that are rewarded to the highest-ranked players on various in-game weekly leaderboards, including Hall of Fame, Battle Power, and Guild Rankings.

Hall of Fame ranks players based on a multitude of different factors, including Battle Power, Job Level, MVP Kills, Crafting Count, Field Stage Progress, and Card Upgrades. Basically, by simply playing through the game and engaging with all of its progression mechanics that help you get stronger, you are more likely to rank high enough on this leaderboard to achieve various rewards, including Libre Emblems.

Battle Power (BP) represents the strength of your character. You can see it next to your character’s HP, and though it hasn’t been explained in the wiki, the amount of BP you have likely depends on factors such as the gear you have equipped. Guild Rankings encourage players to work together as a team in increasing the EXP of their clan. You can gain Guild EXP by upgrading Guild Skills and by taking part in Attendance Check, among other unrevealed methods.

Delabs Points are awarded by completing daily missions in the Delabs Pass. This seasonal pass can be found in the in-game shop, and though there is a free tier, earning Delabs Points seems to only be possible through the Daily Quests found in the paid premium tier. These points not only make you potentially eligible for seasonal airdrops, but they can also be used to buy exclusive items from the in-game shop, and possibly to participate in Delabs-related events.

Poring Coins can be earned as Single PvP and Co-op PvP rewards by reaching high enough ranks, as well as through the paid Delabs Pass by doing Field Hunting and event quests. Fields are core monster-hunting areas where you can earn various rewards for slaying a variety of different enemies, including potential Poring Coins if you have the Delabs Pass.

This is the current system through which you can play and earn $DELABS in Ragnarok Libre once the game is officially live. It may or may not change over time, and it's unclear what features are exactly included in the Early Access release, but given the recent updates made to relevant wiki pages, hopefully this means you can start your play to earn journey in this initial launch.

Pre-Register for Exclusive Rewards

In the meantime, make sure you pre-register for Ragnarok Libre for free by entering your email on the official pre-registration page. Doing so will make you eligible to claim exclusive rewards that you will be awarded on launch.

The more people pre-register, the more rewards everyone who signs up will be set to receive. At the time of writing, there are 5 pre-registration milestones, and 4 of them have already been reached since sign-ups opened on July 3. This means that more than 250,000 players have pre-registered to date, with 500,000 being the final milestone to strive for. Thanks to the web3 gaming community for reaching these milestones, each pre-registered user can look forward to receiving in-game rewards that include 3 Berserk Potions, 2 Magic Hourglasses that last 8 hours, 3 Bags of Gold Coins, and 1 Upgrade Material Box. If the 500,000 milestone is reached, players will be rewarded with 1 Int Gear Box.

Next to all these in-game goodies, there is a referral event underway as well, where the top 10 participants who manage to invite the highest number of people to pre-register using their unique referral link will be rewarded with a share of a 50,000 $DELABS token prize pool. The winner will earn 20,000 $DELABS tokens, while 2nd place gets 10,000 $DELABS and 3rd place snags 5000 $DELABS tokens. 3000 $DELABS is set to be awarded to 4th place, while the rest will receive 2000 $DELABS tokens each.
