R-Planet released an updated roadmap focused on Conquest, the next phase that will radically alter gameplay. The new roadmap states that the Alpha version of Conquest will be available in Q1 2022, while the beta version is scheduled for the second quarter. At that point they expect the R-Planet DAO to be live as well to guide future development.
A recent announcement from the R-Planet team reminded us that they are working hard at developing and deploying the next major phase of the game, Conquest. The new phase will introduce plenty of features, most notably robot and base construction.
The team spells out that even though there isn’t any regular notable public information to share, development is on schedule, and the devs are coding as fast as they can. They point out that the scope and goals of R-Planet have increased substantially since the project initially began. It began as a crafting game, but now it’s aiming at becoming a sophisticated MMO strategy game using player-owned assets.
It’s a good reminder that all of these play-to-earn projects that we love are truly innovating an entirely new space; it’s going to take time. R-Planet wants us all to remember that ambitious projects take time, even with a team of qualified developers.
Most of the announcement was a gentle reminder that the team is working hard, but there are three major takeaways:

The story from R-Planet is about finding planets where we can live. Humanity will pick Mars, but this requires research and testing. That’s where the NFT elements come into place. Combining these will allow humanity to discover more elements, and maybe solve the puzzle. Players will be staking NFTs, mining AETHER, buying and trading these basic materials, using them to create something new, and then the cycle continues.
The amount of AETHER someone earns for their NFTs isn’t a fixed rate anymore. It’s all about the total amount of all staked NFTs, and your participation in the pool. Finding a pool with little activity could prove to be fruitful.
