Information on the main utility for the $HGT governance token, the main in-game currency of Project Hive, a turn-based cyberpunk RPG, have been revealed.
Once the game releases this September, players will be able to deposit and withdraw the token, which players will be able to earn as a reward in the Battle Ranked mode but also when leveling up the Battle Pass. In last week’s Twitter thread, the developers revealed that players will be able to use $HGT to purchase Loot Boxes. These crates may contain cosmetic items, which could come in the form of rare equipment, but also Protocols, which not only “pump up your deck,” but also provide new “tactical options” for your CyberConstruct, an in-game character whose stats are affected by the armor and weapons it has equipped. Weapons, armor and CyberConstructs can be crafted using $HGT, while tokens gained from store sales will be burned, helping create a “powerful deflationary effect.”
There will be more info on additional use cases for the governance token in the near future.
Users on Android devices can currently pre-register for the Solana-based mobile title on the Google Play Store. Pre-registering will unlock exclusive rewards on launch. The more people register, the bigger the rewards. The card battle game is in development in Unreal Engine 5 by an experienced team consisting of more than 30 members. Details on Project Hive’s crafting system were revealed last month.
