The biggest playtest for third-person shooter RPG Xociety is coming soon on the Epic Games Store, and anyone interested has an opportunity to pre-register to start earning rewards before the web3 game goes live.
There doesn’t seem to be any specific details on any new features that will be included in Xociety’s biggest playtest. The developers have however partnered with web3 competitive beta testing platform xCBT.io to launch a “high-stakes campaign” with $100k worth in rewards and “custom in-game experiences. Aside from this potential prize pool, we can likely expect to see improved gameplay from the one previously seen in the Xociety Spotlight Playtest, a 4-day free test period that took place in January 2025. If you like the sound of extraction-based third-person shooter gameplay with RPG elements in a sci-fi world featuring PvP and PvE action, then you can expect more of that in this upcoming playtest, which will likely be free to play as well.
In March, Xociety made its way to the Epic Games Store ahead of an Early Access launch. It’s not yet known as to when the game will go live in Early Access, nor is there a specific date for the upcoming playtest either. What is known is that the Early Access version will include an early version of Squad Match, where up to 30 players battle it out as 3-player squads with the goal of collecting and successfully extracting with Motus to secure victory. The game runs on the Sui blockchain and will require connecting an external wallet, with the Sui Wallet being the one supported. You’ll get to enjoy a free to play experience with optional in-game purchases that require using an external web store with a linked web wallet to buy in-game items.
In the meantime, as we wait for more info to be revealed closer to the start of the playtest, you can wishlist the game through its official store page to help with store visibility while pre-registering and participating in a number of activities ahead of the playtest. Here’s how you can pre-register and get started!
If you want to get a head start for Xociety’s biggest playtest on the Epic Games Store, then you should pre-register as soon as possible by heading to the game’s official dApp page and clicking on the yellow pre-registration button to connect your Epic Games account. Once you’ve done that, you will be taken to a page on which you can connect your Sui Wallet. After that, you can also connect an EVM wallet, but that part is optional. What matters is that your Epic Games account is connected alongside your Sui Wallet. With that, you’ve successfully pre-registered for the upcoming playtest.
With the pre-registration process completed, you can now start completing various missions ahead of the playtest for a chance at earning more rewards. You can access the missions page through the pre-registration page, as well as through this official X announcement. The available missions are social tasks that range from following X accounts and wishlisting Xociety to quoting tweets and bragging about pre-registration on X. Completing these quests earn you points to rank you up on a global leaderboard. By doing so, it looks like there is a chance of winning an EPIC Box, which is said to contain a unique skin. Doing at least 2 missions (that seem to specifically include wishlisting the game and posting about pre-registration on X) gives you a chance of earning rewards that include 500k NTx, $XO Packs, and NFT drops.
Missions on the game’s questing platform represent stage one of a 3-phase reward process, with the second one set to be the upcoming Epic Games playtest, while third will be the Early Access launch. Each stage is said to ramp up the rewards, and it looks like the missions site takes on a seasonal format to constantly give the blockchain gaming community new opportunities to earn rewards and an airdrop allocation of the upcoming $XO token.
