The pre-registration period for the open beta version of tactical RPG Freya: The Starfall is now officially live on Immutable Play, and anyone can sign up for free to earn rewards before the web3 game goes live on PC and mobile devices.
The public beta version of Freya: The Starfall enables the in-game economy and in-app purchases while introducing core features such as talent trees, squad building, Fate-Weaver Gacha, and turn-based PvP battles using a variety of different characters.
More detailed info on all the new features have not yet been specifically revealed for this testing period. For the time being however, there are some details included in the game’s official handbook, though relevant sections haven’t been updated for months, so it’s possible there may have been some changes, but nevertheless a good way to get an idea of what to possibly expect in this open testing phase.
That being said, the wiki reveals that talent trees contain 3 sections: Core Talents, Keystone Talents, and Mastery. In all of them are varied abilities that further strengthen your characters referred to as Mercenaries. Whenever Mercenaries level up, they gain one talent point that can be spent on Core Talents, which can be upgraded up to 5 levels. Every time 15 points are spent on Core Talents, you get 5 points to add to Keystone Talents, and every set of 5 points in Keystone Talents unlocks a Mastery. You can already see numerous different talents listed for the Knight, Warrior, and Ranger classes in dedicated wiki pages.
While the closed beta had players try their best in the AI-driven roguelike Adventure Mode, it looks like the public beta will have players engage in PvP gameplay through two Clash Modes: Lord of the Seven Seas, and Rivalry of the Tides. In the first solo PvP mode, players compete to prove who has the strongest squad, while the second mode has players battle it out against opponents with similar starting times “to contest dominance over their own territories.”
Aside from a timeframe of June – July 2025 in the wiki, no specific release date is available at the time of writing, nor is there any info on the beta test duration, but you can probably expect it to go live later this month or at some point next month and be free for everyone to play on PC, Android, and iOS. A closed beta for Freya: The Starfall launched last month and lasted 2 weeks while featuring $100k in USDC rewards up for grabs for the best players. An Early Access launch on Steam may also be happening next month, based on the wiki’s release timeline. The official release is scheduled for Q3 2025. So, if you want to play to earn early, here’s how you can pre-register!
To pre-register for the open beta test of Freya: The Starfall, head on over to the game’s official page on Immutable Play and start completing the tasks on the right side of the page to earn a total of 100 Immutable Gems while completing the pre-registration process. If you don’t have an Immutable account, you can easily set one up using your email address or via a social sign in option such as Google, Apple, and Facebook. You have until June 24, 00:00 UTC, to pre-register.
Once you’re logged in, you can go back to the game’s page and click the “Follow Now” button on the right to earn 10 Gems. After doing so, there are 5 more tasks you’ll want to do to earn more Gems and properly pre-register. Of those 5, 3 tasks revolve around following the game’s social media profiles on X, while one involves joining the game’s official Discord server, and the last task lets you complete pre-registration and earn 50 Gems by going to a Gleam page and completing all the steps included there. On the Gleam page, there are 5 social tasks and two tasks for submitting your wallet address, one being your EVM or Passport wallet address, while the other is for your Solana wallet address.
Gems are essentially the Immutable platform’s own points that you can collect in a variety of ways, rewarding you for your engagement and time spent supporting various blockchain games. With enough Gems collected, you can choose to redeem Keys that are used to participate in Weekly Draws. Each Key costs 500 Gems, and you can redeem only one Key a week, with each Key only valid for the Weekly Draw period in which you redeem them in. There are 5 types of Keys, and the one you get depends on the number of in-game quests you completed in the previous week. The rarer the Key, more rewards you can earn from the Weekly Draw, with some of the prizes being Gems, Free Entry for the next Weekly Draw, Key Tier-Up for the next draw, and IMX tokens. Early this year, Immutable Gems were upgraded with Perpetual Rewards.
