Web3 social protocol Otherworld has officially launched Solo Leveling: Unlimited on Avalanche, bringing the popular anime series and webtoon to the NFT gaming world in the form of a digital collectibles and game platform. The first season with leaderboard-based rewards is now live. Here’s everything you need to know!
What Is Solo Leveling: Unlimited?
Solo Leveling: Unlimited (SL:U) is an NFT platform based on the renowned South Korean webtoon franchise, Solo Leveling, which has garnered an incredible 14+ billion views. The platform is made by Otherworld, who launched this licensed project on their own Avalanche-powered L1 interoperable blockchain, the Space Network. This subnet was made in partnership with Nestree and LayerZero, and those who use it get to easily and quickly transfer their assets across different networks.
According to the announcement, this platform puts a twist to collectible card games by introducing an interactive collecting and reward system through which you collect monster cards by opening monster gates, leveling up and upgrading your card collections for an opportunity at earning prizes from weekly leaderboards.
The digital collectibles platform features original style, characters, and storyline from the webtoon IP that is now combined with web3-powered gameplay elements to provide fans with an interactive collecting experience that can easily be accessed through web browsers. You don’t need to be a pro web3 gamer or blockchain tech expert to dive in either, as the team has introduced user-friendly login options and other features to make this gamified platform easily accessible by all fans worldwide.
The fantasy webtoon itself was originally published in 2016, becoming a massive global hit that went on to become a web-based series of 14 novels, with the final chapter releasing at the end of 2021. Since then, it has received an anime series adaptation, a spin-off webtoon called Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, and an action RPG for mobile and PC by Netmarble called Solo Leveling: Arise. All these adaptations happened in 2024. It’s also not the first time we’re seeing this IP enter web3 either. Earlier this year, Otherworld teamed up with The Sandbox to launch a Solo Leveling event in the voxel-based metaverse.
Whether you’re a fan of the series or new to the franchise, here’s how you can jump into the first season of this new gamified platform to start your collect to earn journey for a chance at earning weekly rewards!

How to Collect to Earn in Solo Leveling: Unlimited Season Prologue
The first season is now live from December 23rd to February 10th, 2025, and you can head on over to the official website to start enjoying this browser-based gamified experience for free. As it’s designed to introduce the public to web3, you can easily sign up using your Google, Facebook, or X account. You don’t need to connect a wallet, and there are no gas fees to pay. Once your profile is created, you will be given a daily free item to claim in order to start your adventure. Everyone at the start of Season Prologue should receive a Gate key for opening E-Rank gates.
At the Gate, users can earn random boxes containing various digital collectibles. There are different grades of boxes, with higher grade boxes featuring more prizes. Gates are divided into 6 different ranks, and you can only open the ones that you have the right key for, so long as you have leveled up your Hunter Rank/Level high enough to become qualified to access gate slots for higher ranks. If your Hunter Level isn’t higher than E-Rank, you can’t use the other gates, and you can’t even purchase higher-ranked keys either, as you need to be at a high enough level to use them. To increase your Hunter Rank, you simply have to keep opening gates.
Initially, you’ll start off with a key for the E-Rank gate. Opening random boxes takes up a certain amount of time, but you can speed up the process using Essence Stones, which can be bought from the shop using Google Pay, Apple Pay, or a credit/debit card. They can also be acquired from opening boxes and by recycling monster cards, and you will need them to level up and upgrade your monster cards, which is very important to earning rewards this season.
Monster cards are earned by opening random boxes, with the E-Rank gate boxes awarding 3 random monster cards. Combining 2 monster cards allows you to get a card of a higher rank, and you’ll have to keep doing this until you can upgrade your monster cards to Shadow Army cards using a certain number of Essence Stones. Shadow Army cards are divided into 3 ranks, so you’ll have to level up those as well. The end goal is to try and collect all 5 Shadow Army S Rank cards, because those who manage to do so can look forward to getting “exceptional rewards”. Additionally, you can also compete for weekly Essence Stone rewards by collecting as many Shadow Army cards as you can to try and finish in the top 10 every week.

The top 30 participants by the end of the season will be rewarded with an exclusive Sung Jin-Woo Shadow Monarch PFP:
- Rank 1 : 1 x Shadow Monarch NFT (Rarity Class: Ruler)
- Rank 2 : 4 x Shadow Monarch NFT (Rarity Class: Hunter)
- Rank 3 : 3 x Shadow Monarch NFT (Rarity Class: Hunter)
- Rank 4 ~ 10 : 2 x Shadow Monarch NFT (Rarity Class: Hunter)
- Rank 11 ~ 30 : 1 x Shadow Monarch NFT (Rarity Class: Hunter)
For this seasonal leaderboard, rankings are determined based on your Season Score. Your Season Score consists of:
- 40% Hunter Activity Score
- 60% Cumulative Collection Score
The Activity Score is increased by opening gates, with usage of higher-ranked keys awarding more points. The Collection Score is based on the monster cards and Shadow Army cards you’ve collected, so the more cards you have, the bigger your score, especially if you own plenty of Shadow Army cards.

Since it does seem like you only get one key for free every day, those who want to compete for the top leaderboard spots for this season will probably need to buy keys from the official shop using Essence Stones. In fact, the daily key reward seems to be available for a limited time as a celebration of the platform’s official launch. The team is currently hosting 3 celebratory launch reward events, and one of them is an event that lets you claim one E-Rank gate key every day for free, until they run out.
As for the other two events, one of them revolves around using dice draw tickets to roll the lucky dice for rewards, while the other one rewards you with a free bonus key whenever you purchase one Gate Key from the shop. Dice draw tickets are acquired through the Lucky Box, which you have a chance of getting every 20 minutes by keeping an eye for signs of thunder and lightning on the main page. These signs appear 3 minutes before the Lucky Box icon appears. Once the icon shows up, you have 3 minutes to click on the Lucky Box to claim it before it disappears. Lucky Boxes come in different ranks, with higher ranks awarding more dice draw tickets to use in the dice game event, where you roll the dice to move across spaces that may contain rewards such as keys and Essence Stones.
