Gala Games has announced the launch of an early access version of PokerGO Play, a Web3 social casino game now live on PC on their platform. Alongside this release, they have also commenced the sale of NFT Avatar Frames a week before the game’s official launch, doing so with a special 1-week 10% discount.
Interested players can access the game for free on browsers using a Gala Games account. If you choose the free-to-play mode, you won’t be eligible to earn, so you’ll have to own the previously mentioned NFT in order to up the stakes for a chance at earning $GALA prizes starting early next month.
With an Avatar Frame, you’ll receive more daily Chips than free-to-play users, with rarer NFTs awarding a higher amount of Chips every day. You also have a higher base Chip Carryover percentage, which means you can keep more of your Chips from today for the next day. You can also level up your NFT through XP, allowing you to have a higher Carryover percentage while receiving a larger amount of daily Chips. In the future, you will be able to utilize play and reward modifiers called Abilities and Hand Upgrades by having them in the Slots attached to your frame, with rarer NFTs featuring more Slots.
All the progress you make with your NFT during this early access phase will carry over to the official launch, making it possible to gain an advantage in the upcoming Sweepstakes by leveling up your NFT.
Sweepstakes resemble the core of the game’s reward structure. By playing games to win Chips, you’re forming your daily Take, which is converted every day into entries for weekly Sweepstakes. Each entry gives you a chance of winning a $GALA prize, with the Take from the previous day being factored in the next day’s Starting Chips, meaning the more daily Chips and higher Carryover percentage you have, the more entries you get, making it important to both win games and level up your Avatar Frame.
The first Sweepstakes will go live early next month with a prize pool of $5000, with an exact date set to be revealed in the future. You can check out the official announcement post here, which also contains a link to the game, as well as a link to the relevant Gala Games store page. There are 5 different rarities, each with a supply of 100k, with the cheapest Uncommon NFT priced at around 1174 $GALA, equivalent to around $22 at the time of writing.
