BITKRAFT Ventures-backed extraction battle royale Party Icons is now live in Closed Beta 2, giving the blockchain gaming community a chance to play to earn from a $500k prize pool for a limited time.
Closed Beta 2 of Party Icons fully started on April 2nd and will end on May 1st, allowing players to test out a huge update that revamps core gameplay for a more enjoyable web3 gaming experience while attempting to earn a share of the large prize pool in a variety of different ways.
When it comes to the significant update for this early version of the third-person shooter, the developers have overhauled Extraction Mode with seamless matches and a new system that gives players more control over the loot they extract. By introducing a unified entry for players to use, players no longer have to worry about any gold, diamonds, or energy fields, but can instead enjoy better queue times for faster matchmaking. Players can now also properly set up their loadout, choosing their own heroes, weapons, armor, mods, medkits, and ammo in order to better take on a preferred playstyle and effectively create their own strategy. Safe Boxes and Mirblite Collectors are also available as optional paid unlocks. By storing loot in your Safe Box, you get to keep everything you’ve stashed there, even if you end up getting eliminated. With the new extraction system, everything you now extract can actually be freely traded and redeemed, as well as used in other matches.
Mirble production has also been revamped with a new Mining Power model that ditches hash-rate competition in favor of a productivity system where higher Mining Power allows you to gain more Mirble. Your Heroes act as your 24/7 Mirble miners essentially, and the raw Mirblite you gain can be transformed into Mirble using the overhauled Mining Station, which now requires having staked heroes and Mining Rigs to refine your raw resources. Mining Rigs can now be levelled up using materials earned from Party Heist or purchased from the marketplace. By leveling up your Mining Rigs, you get to gain more Mirble. Mining Power can be further increased by staking OGX NFTs, with up to 5 assets per account allowed to be staked. Mirble minting is now officially live as well, so you can mint your Mirble on-chain and trade it on the Sky Mavis Marketplace.
In other gameplay-related updates, the team has also made a couple of combat upgrades to the Ronin-powered title. This includes adjustments to hero and gear stats across all rarities, the introduction of a durability system for armor that now needs to be repaired with Mirble; reworked boss mechanic for more challenging battles, new Elite Shield Units, and a new Hong Kong Map with dynamic extraction routes and exclusive boss encounters. All heroes now upgrade to G Tier, and there are 4 new Party Boxes included in the loot pool that now feature upgraded CB1 heroes. There are also 2 new heroes now in the game: Wednesday the Camel, a top-tier tank, and Chester the Madcat, a swift and deadly hero that is exclusive to the Party Pass.
As for the game’s marketplace and web3-powered economy, that all too has been upgraded with a new marketplace UI, the addition of a price comparison tool, an NFT burn mechanic, and dual currency support. This means you can now burn minted NFTs such as Heroes, Weapons, and Mirble back into in-game assets while trading in either Gold or Diamonds, all while enjoying a smoother browsing experience with better listing tools and a price comparison feature utilizing real-time market filtering to help you find the best deals available.
Here’s how you can play and earn and play to airdrop while there’s still time.
Anyone can play and earn in the Closed Beta 2 phase of Party Icons through a number of different ways. These include limited-time challenges, the Party Pass system, Bounty Quests, and the new Fusion System. All of these methods, according to the official X announcement, give you a chance of earning a share of the $500k worth of rewards that are available for this second closed beta period.
Next to the prize pool however, players can also play to airdrop by attempting to collect as much Mirble as possible until May 1st. You'll want to do so because Mirble is the main currency for materials, upgrades, and assets, making it an important resource that you may want to trade on the marketplace. It also acts as an important airdrop points system, as Mirble is set to be exchangeable to the upcoming $PARTY token once the TGE takes place at some point in the future. Check out the official guide to help you further get started.
Despite it being referred to as a closed beta, anyone can actually jump into Party Icons right now for free by downloading the web3 game on either PC, Android, or iOS. All links can be found on the official download page from the game’s website. PC gamers can download the game on HyperPlay or directly on Windows, while mobile gamers can download an Android APK file or use TestFlight to access the iOS version.
