The team behind Lumiterra has officially kicked off Survival Season, marking the start of an economic stress test phase that brings the web3 game on-chain on the Monad mainnet, making it possible to play to earn ahead of the full mainnet release.
What Is Lumiterra?
Lumiterra is a sandbox MMORPG that blends survival gameplay, real ownership of items, and on-chain progression. The game centers on an AI companion that learns from the way each player fights, gathers, farms, and explores. This companion adapts to the player’s preferred style and becomes a long-term asset that grows alongside the player’s account.
The world of Lumiterra features real-time combat, resource collection, agriculture, crafting, trading, and cooperative survival gameplay. Every profession interacts with others, creating a player-driven economy where materials, gear, pets, and other items can be minted on-chain and traded. The game uses a visual style that mixes 2D and 3D elements and supports play on PC as a downloadable title for Windows and Mac, but also without download on web browsers, with Android and iOS to be added as supported platforms at some point later on.
What’s New in Lumiterra Survival Season?
Survival Season is the first real mainnet chapter of Lumiterra, launched together with the Monad mainnet. This season uses the complete Lumiterra open-world loop and places all progression directly on-chain. It introduces the first large-scale incentive program for the community and marks the beginning of the Lumi multi-chain ecosystem.
Survival Season is presented as a “play, earn, compete, and get ahead” format. Progression begins immediately when players enter the world. Characters, items, materials, and other resources are preserved for future chapters, since there is no seasonal wipe. This allows early players to establish an advantage that carries into later stages of the ecosystem.
The play component includes open-world real-time combat, exploration, gathering, and farming. All actions take place in real-time and feed into the economic system. The earn aspect consists of fully on-chain tradable items and rewards that also incorporate the new $LVMON token. When it comes to competing, the focus is on Resident Card Puzzles, which are limited items that determine early identity and future access rights across the Lumi ecosystem. The “get ahead” part simply refers to the value of holding early assets that will influence progression in LumiTown, Lumipad, and future mainnet phases. Playing now puts you in a better starting spot for the full launch.
This season is also used as an economic stress test. A referral system is also in place, allowing players to generate rewards based on invited players, creating additional activity for revenue-based pools.
Several features are available during this season. These include combat, gathering, farming, fishing, equipment enhancement, the energy system, the pet system, daily tasks, general tasks, team play, open-world PvP encounters, world bosses, and the Slime Protection event. Some features not included for this phase are dungeons, tower challenges, the reputation system, leaderboards, equipment staking, the totem system, homeland construction, and the warehouse.
The season began on November 25, 2025 and is expected to last at least 4 weeks. The team plans to announce Survival Season II after Christmas. No whitelist is required for entry and no reset will occur when the season ends.
What Is $LVMON?
$LVMON is a synthetic version of $MON created in partnership with LeverUp. Players can use $LVMON inside Lumiterra as the main currency for in-app purchases, marketplace transactions, and core economic activity. The system mints $LVMON automatically at a 1:1 ratio when players deposit $MON into the game. Players can also swap between $LVMON and $MON on Monad decentralized exchanges during the season.
An official 1:1 mint and redemption system will become available after the end of Season 1 through the $LVMON Exchange. These features establish $LVMON as the central currency for all in-game functions.
LeverUp allocates part of its $MON reserves to liquid staking strategies that generate passive yield. This yield is redirected into the game's prize pools and increases the scale of rewards for Survival Season participants. As part of the collaboration, players are also set to receive an exclusive allocation of the $LV airdrop.
The token also plays a role in the broader incentive structure. A Merkl Reward Pool funded by Lumiterra contains 1 million $LVMON for distribution through on-chain tasks. This is a special program for past paying and high-quality players. To qualify, returning players need to complete the beginner task and purchase one Energy Potion for 100 $MON. The 100 $MON is refunded and the players receive a portion of the pool.
All token-based rewards for Survival Season are distributed and claimable through Merkl. Final settlement occurs at the end of the season, and allocations can be reviewed directly on-chain.
How to Play to Earn in Lumiterra Survival Season
Lumiterra Survival Season includes several earning paths that operate at the same time. Players can choose whichever format suits their style.
The first earning path is the in-game reward system. The Game Item Conversion System allows players to convert equipment, materials, and other items into $LVMON or Resident Card Puzzle pieces. The value of each item is determined by its Wealth Value. The Token Task system provides direct $LVMON for completing missions.
The second earning path consists of off-game rewards through the Merkl Pool. This pool contains 1 million $LVMON and distributes rewards based on gameplay items redeemed through Merkl. Final shares depend on how many players participate in the program.
The third earning path is the referral system. Inviting players generates Friendship Medals when their invitees spend within the game. Invitees who use a referral code receive a New Player Package when the mainnet distribution cycle occurs.
All reward pools and logic are on chain and visible to the public. Distribution is said to follow contribution-based rules and does not include any internal advantages or hidden allocations. Players are able to verify participation and track final results directly.
Survival Season marks the official beginning of the Lumi mainnet ecosystem. Early items, identity, and recorded actions will carry into future releases. Players who participate now establish their starting position for later chapters, creating long term advantages in the expanding Lumi Universe.
