Lonely Lily Studios, the team behind the growing web3-powered multimedia ecosystem Franky’s Dinner, has officially kicked off Franky GO! Season 2, introducing new features and another period in which players can play to earn memecoin rewards.

Following a teaser of Season 2 features back in July this year, we now have full details on all the new additions to this latest version of the browser-based idle RPG.

What’s New in Franky GO! Season 2?

Season 2 of Franky GO! Introduces various new enemies, 10 new chapters, more rewards, mechanics for upgrading your character, vRNG powered by Proof of Play’s on-chain technology, and the ability to earn Equipment Keys through gameplay.

Equipment Keys were airdropped to Beta, Day 1, and Week 1 players, as well as to the top Crumb collectors on the leaderboard of the first season, but now anyone who starts a run with a ticket can collect them for free. By collecting Equipment Keys, you gain access to new upgrade features that allow you to enhance your gear, making you better prepared for a new run and thus likelier to earn better rewards.

With Equipment Keys, you can open Equipment Chests that come in 4 different rarities: Bronze (requires 1 Key), Silver (3 Keys), Gold (10 Keys), and Platinum (35 Keys). If you spend 500 Keys in total, you will be able to claim a bonus Platinum Chest. Inside these Equipment Chests, you’ll find random tradable NFT gear you can equip to your character, with rarer Chests unlocking the possibility to earn rarer equipment. While there are 4 types of Chests, equipment is divided into 5 tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, and 1:1. The rarity of the Chest determines how rare the equipment could be. For example, a Bronze Chest has a 90% chance of dropping Common gear and 10% probability of awarding you with Uncommon equipment, while a Gold Chest ups the Uncommon probability to 51% while adding a 34% possibility of dropping Rare gear, and a 12% chance of containing a Legendary piece.

Alongside their tiers, equipment also comes in 4 types: head gear, body armor, shoes, and weapons. Each of these can boost varying stats such as damage, critical damage, and critical hit rate. This means that you can shape your playstyle by equipping gear that’s focused on the stats you’d prefer to increase the most, allowing players to create both offensive and defensive builds. There are a total of 18 armor pieces and 6 weapons for this season. The 18 armor pieces make up 6 equipment sets in total, so if you find 3 pieces of armor belonging to the same set, you’ll get yourself a visually nicer looking Franky character on top of the enhanced attributes.

If you want to make your equipment even stronger, you can now use the new merging feature to combine duplicate gear into one of stronger tier by spending Crumbs. The higher the tier your equipment is, the bigger the stat boost it provides.

Just like in the first season, this one too lets you collect Crumbs through gameplay, but you can now spend that currency on buying Protein Bars, which you need to access the new gym mini-game, through which you can level up your character to increase HP and attack stats. You can level up all the way to level 50, and if you manage to pull that off and get to fully equip your character with 1:1 gear, and be loaded with Crumbs, you can then look forward to participating in a “mid-season surprise,” according to the COO’s X post and the founder’s announcement video.

Next to all these new additions and limited time events, this season features special leaderboard rewards, and you can climb the rankings by collecting as many Crumbs as you can while trying to make it to the final chapter. The more chapters you complete, the harder it gets, requiring you to upgrade your character and gear for a better chance at progressing further, with both in-game and memecoin rewards increasing the tougher the chapter is. The leaderboard is temporarily unavailable at the time of writing, and the prizes it entails do not seem to have been revealed yet. Even if you don’t rank high enough the ladder, you can still play to earn memecoins through gameplay. Here’s how!

How to Play to Earn in Franky GO! Season 2

While Franky GO! Is available as a free to play web3 game on Abstract, to play to earn in Season 2 of this on-chain idle RPG, you will want to buy tickets using ETH and consume them in each playthrough to unlock the possibility of winning tokens that include $YGG and a variety of memecoins such as $ABSTER, $RETSBA, $GRIND, and more.

To get started, head over to the game’s official website and connect your wallet to access the browser-based title. Once you’re in, you can try out the game for free to get used to its mechanics. Just switch the toggle next to the Play button to access Free Play. You can play for free up to 3 times and collect Crumbs for doing so, which ranks you up the leaderboard and can also be spent on buying Protein Bars, a crucial item used for leveling up Franky through the gym mini-game. Crumbs can also be earned by completing daily and weekly quests, most of which are gameplay focused.

In each run, your goal is to survive 10 days by making various decisions and winning 2D idle battles for a chance of winning rewards such as Crumbs, Equipment Keys, Equipment Chests, and crypto meme tokens on Abstract. You’ll watch your anthropomorphic froggy character called Franky go on adventures in a colorful cartoony world that is teeming with dangers. Expect a wide range of encounters that include unavoidable battles but also ones in which you get to decide what Franky does next: does he open the mysterious chest in his way and lose health for doing so in hopes of valuable goodies, or does he leave it and move on? On some days, you might be unfortunate enough to lose health just from having a bee buzzing by or by getting spooked by some ominous shadow in the forest. There’s a lot of RNG at play, and the more you play, the more you’ll be able to upgrade your build for a better chance of surviving longer.

If you feel ready to start earning more than Crumbs and want to begin to play to earn crypto and more, you can then start spending ETH on tickets, with one ticket costing $2. Each run consumes at least 1 ticket, but you can choose to burn up to 10 tickets on each run to multiply your Crumbs rewards. You can earn free tickets by referring friends, with one ticket awarded for every 2 friends invited, provided each of your friends buys at least 2 tickets. If you want to get 1 free ticket per day, you will have to become a Franky’s Dinner NFT holder, with the ecosystem asset available for purchase on OpenSea and Blur on the Ethereum network for the floor price at 0.082 ETH on both marketplaces at the time of writing.

If you like on-chain games with RNG mechanics, then you may want to jump into Season 2 of Franky GO! and see how many meme tokens you can earn alongside possibly some other prizes if you rank high enough on the leaderboard. This season kicked off on September 23, and an end date has not been announced at the time of writing. Season 1 ran from May 28 to July 13, so perhaps we can expect a similar run of around 6 weeks for this latest play and earn period as well.
