Season 3 of Cambria Gold Rush, titled The Depths Below, officially opens on December 4 at 11 AM ET and runs for 10 days. Documentation for this season just released on November 26, with an early access playtest to follow from November 28 to November 30.

The new season shifts the game’s focus beneath the surface of New Cambria, introducing Ruined Dungeons, new expedition systems, and expanded economic roles for adventurers, guilds, and paymasters.

What Is Cambria Gold Rush?

Cambria: Gold Rush is a risk to earn MMO with on-chain stakes. Players farm outside safe zones to extract Corrupted Loot, return it to the Royal Treasury, and earn Silver and Royal Favor. Season 3 keeps this foundation while adding new locations, progression paths, and tactical choices.

Gold Rush is set in a land ruined by an unexplained disaster. The player’s goal is to venture beyond the walls of the Capital City and gather Corrupted Loot in the form of Artifacts, Curios, and Gems. Each expedition is shaped by the game’s risk system. The longer a player stays outside a safe zone, the higher the reward multiplier becomes. This multiplier resets only when the player ends the expedition.

Corrupted Loot is earned through 3 main avenues: monsters drop Artifacts, gathering activities produce Curios, and treasure chests deep in the wilderness contain Gems. Higher-tier zones contain stronger monsters, rarer resources, and greater drop chances. For example, mining Adamantine Ore, which is Tier 4 and requires mining level 80, produces a far higher chance of Curios than Tier 1 ore found near the city.

All Corrupted Loot is exchanged with Sir Althus at the Royal Treasury. This process converts the items into Silver and Royal Favor but also applies 2 taxes. The Paymaster tax is 13% and the Cambria tax is 2%. Sponsored players and founders may pay reduced Paymaster rates depending on guild performance.

Silver contributes to the season’s main prize pool. All ETH and RON spent in-game, apart from specific exemptions such as T3 charter upgrades or energy burned at the Holy Altar, increases the prize pool. At the end of the season, 95% of the pool is distributed based on each player’s share of total Silver.

Royal Favor functions as the game’s influence currency. It provides passive Bribes which contain trinkets for the Cambria airdrop and a set of undisclosed raffle rewards. Royal Favor also determines leaderboards for the season. Top players and guilds receive multipliers, achievements, and unique NFT rewards.

Energy remains the key resource that limits time spent outside safe zones. Players begin with 30k Energy. A Royal Charter provides 216k Energy every 24 hours, regenerating to a maximum of 160k while offline. Energy Orbs restore 100k each and can be minted for ETH or purchased through the trading post.

Charters act as the season pass. Without one, the player cannot trade or cash-in Corrupted Loot and can only play until starting Energy runs out. Charters come in 4 tiers, each adding trading privileges, Paymaster access, guild leadership access, or advanced features such as arcane research and unique cosmetic effects.

What’s New in Cambria Gold Rush Season 3: The Depths Below?

Season 3: The Depths Below introduces Ruined Dungeons, an updated Paymasters system, guild updates, Marks, Boosts, and new dynamic visual indicators on the map.

Ruined Dungeons

Ruined Dungeons are collapsed access corridors that appear dynamically in the overworld and remain until completed. Each dungeon matches the difficulty of the region where it spawns and can be entered by anyone, as well as be followed by 1 invading player.

Inside each dungeon, players encounter high-reward monsters, traps, and item sources. Surviving long enough leads to the Final Chamber, which contains a mini boss, a Boss Chest, and a new reward type known as Marks. These Marks are tradable buffs that can be attuned in safe zones and equipped in sets of up to 3 to shape expedition strategy.

Since 1 other player can follow you into these areas, this means that players can devise invasions, adding PvP tension to this new feature. While an invader is present, both players receive reduced artifact drops. Defenders can destroy 3 Soul Crystals to force the invader out or attempt to kill them. The only exit from a Ruined Dungeon is through the portal created after defeating the mini boss.

There are also traps in these dungeons, which include interval-based fire traps, motion-triggered fire traps, spiked ground traps, and trapdoor levers. These hazards create additional risk even without invaders.

Paymasters

Season 3 expands the economic role of the Syndicate Vault and the Paymaster system. Players may deposit T1 Charters into the vault and receive Syndicate Shares at a 1:1 ratio. These shares entitle the holder to a portion of all taxed Silver and Royal Favor that adventurers generate. Shares cannot be withdrawn once deposited.

Paymasters shape the economy by influencing guild competition. Higher performing guilds reduce their tax rates, meaning fewer Silver flows into Paymaster rewards. As more players become Paymasters, yield per share diminishes, creating pressure for early entry or guild sponsorship strategies.

Guild Updates

Guilds continue to compete on the rolling 24-hour Royal Favor leaderboard. High placement reduces Paymaster taxes for all members. Viceroys remain guild leaders and can sponsor free to play players by providing charters and Energy. Season 3 allows Viceroys to set Energy Orb withdrawal limits and offers improved tracking of guild activity, including logs of chest and safe transactions. Patrons, who deposit charters or Energy Orbs into the guild chest, receive Royal Favor based on contribution scores. This creates new ways for investors to earn without adventuring.

Marks

Marks are new tradeable dungeon rewards. They come in 4 categories: PvM, PvP, hybrid, and utility. Each Mark provides combat or gathering benefits. Players can equip 3 at a time and may unattune them to trade freely.

Boosts

Boosts are single-run consumables that drop from skilling, monster kills, player kills, or mystery objects. They last only for the current expedition and vanish upon death or entering a safe zone. There are 9 types with 4 Tiers each. High-tier boosts can significantly increase damage, artifact drops, or reward multipliers.

Heat and Blobs

The Heat Index is a new dynamic map indicator showing how remote or contested an area is. Heat values range from 0 (“Remote”) to one 100 (“Contested”). Remote zones favor solo players with sparse but higher variety of resources. Contested zones favor groups with higher-tier monsters and dense resource pockets. Blobs are also visual indicators that appear on the map when 6 or more players cluster together, showing real-time hotspots outside safe zones.

How to Play to Earn in Cambria Gold Rush Season 3

Participants can play to earn in Cambria Season 3 by focusing on 3 main routes. The first route is direct adventuring. Players gather Corrupted Loot, return it safely, and accumulate Silver for a share of the ETH prize pool. Efficient routing, zone choice, mark selection, and boost usage will influence earnings.

The second route is in-game influence farming by collecting Royal Favor. Players who focus on Royal Favor can earn passive Bribes and placement rewards, with Bribes awarding Trinkets, which determine airdrop allocation of the game's upcoming token. Guilds that coordinate activity will secure lower tax rates and larger share distributions for Viceroys and Patrons.

The third route is investment. Paymasters and guild Patrons can generate earnings without spending much time outside safe zones. Charter deposits, Energy Orb contributions, and strategic sponsorships create revenue streams drawn from the productivity of other players.

Season 3 mixes all 3 routes. The addition of Ruined Dungeons and Marks gives adventurers more tactical control, while Paymasters and guilds influence the broader economy. With a growing prize pool and a short 10-day season, fast coordination and efficient play will be essential for anyone aiming to maximize their share. Whether you’re looking to play solo or together with a guild, you can look forward to playing Cambria on PC via web browsers on Ronin or Abstract once the new season goes live on December 4 at 11 AM ET. You will need to mint at least 1 Royal Charter for 0.01 ETH to fully unlock the ability to play to earn in this season.
