Open Loot-powered asymmetrical PC/VR title Boss Fighters has kicked off this month with the start of Season 2, giving players a new opportunity to climb the leaderboard and play to earn various rewards, such as the $BFTOKEN, for which TGE took place in May this year. Let's take a look at what’s new for this season and how you can participate in earning a share of a growing prize pool.

What’s New in Boss Fighters Season 2?

Boss Fighters Season 2 brings with it new rewards and bonuses alongside a powerful perk that can help you increase your earnings through gameplay from every 1v4 match.

For this season, every item that you craft is given a +15% efficiency bonus that is applied to Power and Value perks, enabling you to make better quality gear that is stronger in battle and thus more valuable as they help make it easier to boost your rewards. While new crafts are thus at 115% efficiency, the items from Season 1 have returned to 100% efficiency in order to foster a dynamic economy while giving players “fresh opportunities to shine” in every new season, according to the Medium announcement. However, Unique and Transcendent items from Season 1 will continue to retain their 115% boost thanks to their rarity and “Seasonal immunity.”

Next to bonuses for newly crafted builds, this season gives players the chance to boost their earnings by using a new perk: the Extra $BFTOKEN perk. This perk is exclusive to gear of Legendary rarity and higher, and is capable of awarding you bonus $BFTOKEN on top of the usual payouts you get from regularly playing matches. So, if you have crafted items at Legendary rarity or higher, you get to earn bonus tokens depending on your results. The better you perform in each match, the larger your bonus will be. Next to having a scaling bonus per match, this perk also comes in 10 rarity tiers, and the higher the tier your perk is, the stronger your bonus will actually be. Overall, through this perk, the developers aim to directly reward the performances of dedicated high-level players, making them even more engaged and focused on achieving landslide victories in every match.

“Seasons are built to keep the game world evolving — making every craft, match, and strategy choice feel meaningful. With Season 2, we’re doubling down on that vision by rewarding active players and giving you more tools to stay competitive.”

Next to these new additions that allow you to increase your earnings through gameplay, here is how you can compete for the seasonal leaderboard from June 3 to June 24.

What Is the Prize Pool for Boss Fighters Season 2?

When it comes to leaderboard rewards, this season could have a prize pool of up to 12 million $BFTOKEN plus a total of 300 Mystery Boxes up for grabs for the top 100 players based on the blockchain gaming community’s economic-related in-game activity. This means that for this season, the Token Burnout Leaderboard is bringing a new way for players to compete for rewards, and that is by spending plenty of tokens.

The Token Burnout Leaderboard ranks players based on the number of $BFTOKEN spent. Every $BFTOKEN spent is worth 1 point, so the more you spend, the more points you have to top the leaderboard. This means that you can earn points through any available in-game token sinks. For this season, these token sinks include crafting items, merging items, making purchases through the in-game shop, and spending tokens on boosted rolls.

This means that the more tokens players spend during this season, the bigger the prize pool will end up being, with the limit being 12 million $BFTOKEN. As for the 300 Mystery Boxes, their rarity will also depend on the number of tokens the community spends throughout the season.

The prize pool is split into 10 reward tiers that the community unlocks together by sinking more and more tokens. Unlocking the first tier requires a total of 100k tokens to be spent by the community, opening up access to a 150k $BFTOKEN reward pool alongside 1 slot Mystery Boxes. Here is the full tier structure:
